That's the way i see it, there could be up to 70 Nationalist seats if the Greens do well.

Edit - Of course, the only headline will be 'SNP failed to get majority ahahaahahahah you're shite m8' from the Unionist press.  Conveniently forgetting the Greens are pro-indy.

If the SNP win 63 again, it could be even more than 70 - the pro-referendum seats could even be as high as 75 but apparently that won't be enough for some people...

That video of Sturgeon and the Britain First ghoul was horrific. The guy with the camera sounded like Limmy doing a parody of a fascist gimp.

AYE COS WUR A NEW PARTY!!!

Minter.

I'm not sure if the guy telling Sturgeon that she "wants to turn Scotland into a socialist republic" realises that that isn't the zinger he thinks it is.  Sounds great to me!

"Don't threaten me with a good time" vibes here.

Let's all talk about our feelings.

Sometimes in a campaign you get a feeling from voters on the doorstep about how everything is going.

That's when turnout matters. There isn't a universal rule of high turnout means X

I don't get any sense from campaign work, in my constituency anyway, that we have a strong motivated unionist bloc itching to stop indyref 2 in the way we had in 2016 and 2017. This was not a Ruth Davidson campaign.

I did get a sense we have lots of families excited to vote and - let's give Alex Salmond his due - the issue of tactical voting for Indy was present on the doorstep like never before. Unfortunately for Alba all we heard is people were voting Green

I hate to be optimistic but I'm optimistic that a high turnout in these elections means it's good for indy parties.

Need to see final figures though as queues because of Covid limits and full boxes because of size of the list ballot don't tell us much.

There has certainly been a lot of awakenings to how to maximise the power of the second vote.

I'd also agree that the pro union passion has dissipated a bit. Also traditional Labour folk up here less willing to tactically support Tories due to to any combination of Boris, DRoss, Brexit, Covid shambles. Genuinely think there is a growing, albeit grudgingly, respect for Nicola within the soft no Labour types. I think Alex Salmond has played a part in that too.

I've a good feeling in my water that the SNP will be there or thereabouts for a majority on Constituency performance alone. I'm expecting the Greens to do very well on the list and get well into double figures. If Alba get anything it will still be seen as a positive in the pro indy context and I'd be a bit surprised if they didn't get a couple of list MSP's. I'd certainly predict a fair sized switch on the list vote from SNP to Greens and Alba.

Let the counting begin...

A formal coalition cements the pro-independence majority in a way that "SNP minority government" does not. it might not be necessary or possible after the votes are tallied but if the SNP are serious about holding a referendum this term then forming a majority government of independence parties should be essential.

How many constituency seats are the SNP expected to win? Could they seal a majority through constituency seats alone?

Touch and go. Polling has them anywhere low to high 60s with 65 as the target. So yes they could but IMO it's going to be +/- 1 either side of that.

What is worth watching, though, is if the Greens can hit double figures to compliment the SNP result.

Loving reports that extra ballot boxes had to be sent to polling stations in Glasgow - in part due to the regional list being that long.

I did almost feel like a ballot from 1920s or 30s Weimar Germany - especially with all the fringe loony parties standing. That said I’m all for PR.

Think I’ve also discovered where the Penman family found the font for their sponsorship of the South Stand at Stark’s Park.

Starting to worry that SNP may lose a couple of seats while Baillie, Cole Hamilton etc hold on and the media hailing it as a victory for the yoons. Hate this waiting for results

I think seeing Baillie and arseCole-Hamilton lose their seats would trump that Portillo loss years ago.

As to what's happening in England... Christ on a crutch. The likes of Hartlepool and Sunderland voting Tory.

Let's get Indyref2 a.s.a.p.

Baillie sounds like she's shiting herself. Increased turnout in a marginal seat is not good news for her.
