These two are pish. But they probably think that about Scotland.

I’ve still found it a decent enough watch for a 0-0 so far though. Can feel the tension but not necessarily a cagey game with it being quite end to end.
Also does anyone know how  there are so many Peruvians at it given it’s in Qatar?

The South Americans took loads of fans to Russia, too. I guess a combination of having quite a big population with a sufficiently large wealthy elite who can afford to go to events, being more football mad than countries like Australia and, perhaps, not sharing European hang-ups about supporting matches in these revolting regimes.

I expect South American teams may be among the best supported teams during the actual tournament, again.

Interminable, but the Peruvians seem like a great bunch of lads, so hopefully they can pull something out of the bag.

Anyone notice Chile trying to get Ecuador barred from the tournament for fielding an ineligible player? They seemed to think they'd get to replace them, which would've seemed a bit harsh on Peru if they were to lose this game.

Both of these teams are shite.

TBF, this is always the absolute dregs of the final tournament, as you'd expect.

And yet the host nation have never even managed to get this far.

The player played in games against Chile but not against Peru so if all the games had been awarded as defeats to Ecuador then Chile would have finished 4th, Peru would still have been 5th and Ecuador would have been out of it.

Chile ended up missing out on the play-offs for last World Cup after Peru were awarded a win over Bolivia because the latter fielded an ineligible player, so you can definitely understand them pursuing this all the way.

They have a load of $$$$$$$$$$$ though, which is all that matters apparently.
