If you give a billionaire a million pound in tax breaks (at the expense of those scraping by on minimum wage) it will "incentivize" them to do something useful with that million that they won't even notice in their offshore tax account..... or something.

Technically true. They'll be more likely to provide the minister(s) responsible with executive "jobs" for themselves, their families, and friends.

It's a form of money laundering, when you think about it.

Well, this is some top Tory work right here. Of all the things that could be done to help millions suffering in the middle of a cost of living crisis, this:

"Jeremy Hunt defends pension tax giveaway for rich, saying it will lead to people getting NHS operations more quickly."

Never mind that his argument makes absolutely no sense,

'The Office for Budget Responsibility said yesterday the policy would only lead to an extra 15,000 people staying in work. When this figure was put to Hunt, he said he did not accept it."

Tories gonna Tory.

The whole thing about senior NHS consultants could be solved by changing the rules that make superannuation payments compulsory on NHS contracts.

Not saying that's the best solution but it is a possibility.

John Beattie interviewed Rory Bremner on Newsdrive just before the budget. Bremner said that for an impressionist, Chancellor and unfortunate rhyming slang Heremy Junt was difficult to do because he had no distinguishing features or behaviours at all.

But I think there's something distinctly Anthony Perkins/Norman Bates about him. I don't think he ever blinks and I bet he trails a whiff of formaldehyde wheever he goes.

It's looking like Braverman visited a new housing estate rather than the new detention centre.  Did she not think this was going to come out?

This can, and will, be held up as evidence of their great humanitarian immigration policy, by people who couldn't care less if anyone sent to Rwanda is ever seen alive again, and most of their voters will never know any different.

You can't expect psychopaths to adhere to notions of morality when they experience no punishment for not doing so.

This unelected cove was interviewed by Martin Geisler on telly on Sunday morning. On telly he looked even more like a comedy sketch character. Could barely string together a coherent sentence.

He looks like the Tory MP off of Ghosts who is trouserless in the afterlife because he died without his trousers on.

While the corrupt shambles that is Johnson was lying through his teeth in a high profile committee today, the Tories have taken the chance to try to force through suspicionless stop and search.

Shit Malthouse says that we need it because police might find glue in someone's pocket and that would  stop them gluing themselves to a road. Sounds proportionate to me.

Lee Anderson is to be paid £100k per annum to host a GB News show.

If only we paid our MPs £100,000 per annum more, they wouldn't be forced to take on extra "jobs" like this in order to pay the bills.

How else are we supposed to retain world-class talent like Lee Anderson? We're lucky he hasn't quit to take on a better-paid job more commensurate to his immense ability.

They could get a couple of pissed arseholes from a Margate Pub to spout the same bollocks that he'll come out with.

Interestingly enough Anderson said that the Tories would fight the next election on the Culture Wars, no doubt droning on about small boats , trans people and Johnny Forriner coming to steal your biscuits all laced up in some casual racism.  In a time when many are more worried about how they'll pay their Gas Bill and Mortgages going up its easy to see why they are way behind in the polls an on target to lose badly.

Absolutely crazy that 3 senior members of the cabinet and the most senior back bencher can't wait to be coining in thousands with absolutely no due diligence carried out. If this is what a small team of journalists can carry off what can foreign security services uncover with a but more professionalism. Surely they have to change how this country has been run after the trials and tribulations of the last 10 years.

Who, the folk coining it in while nominally representing us in parliament?

They might be prepared to increase the wage and benefits they draw from the public purse, if that's any use?

Yes they absolutely have to change the rules Covid has shown the sheer nonsense of the system.

Hopefully some of the folk in the LbD expose have used Parliamentary offices to conduct these meetings and end up flung out.

Hancock just being Hancock.

The guy is a blundering idiot. Tory scumbag.

He should have been kicked completely out of parliament for that celebrity jungle bollox.

You can actually see the cogs in motion as he tries desperately to do some financial sums in his head.

Would depend on your definition of wrong. IMO whoring themselves out to the highest bidder compromises their impartiality but it is not against the rules per se. I think it should be.

Same with party donations. How can people believe that donors are  just being generous? They expect something back for their cash.
