Fighting against decades upon decades of total ignorance, total indifference, people who unthinkingly accept 'the norm' and instinctually lash out against and poo-poo anything that runs contrary to or challenges it, the 'my dad voted x, my grandad voted x' clowns, people who define their politics based on what football team they support or what religion they are, people who define their politics based on what football team other people support or what religion other people are, people who honestly believe Scotland has never been an independent country (yup, they exist) and for that reason alone could never be one, and folk who are so consumed by economic questions that Tories could slaughter their immediate families and they'd still vote for unionist parties if they thought it protected their pensions and house prices. Oh, and evil transes looking up your skirt in the loo if 'that wummin' has her way on GRC reform. BigDoddyKane
it feels a bit like making excuses for it not being achieved already, thats not very inspiring I think leaders have the ability to change these things , it may not be easy but if they cant do it then find someone who can

Mark Connolly
Y’know it’s funny, Ruth Davidson is always nowhere to be seen when the Tory shit is hitting the fan, but when she does turn up, it’s to criticise the SNP. Its almost as if she’s a snidey, carpetbagging shitebag
Boo Khaki
The Tank Commander just casually ignoring the fact that in both the instances she cites there was no change in policy or direction since the previous incumbent won a GE, yet we've just seen Truss and Sunak rubbish each other publicly over the course of 6-7 weeks, Truss completely throw the baby out with the bathwater on fiscal and economic policy, the economy to tank as a result, and now quite possibly yet another total about face that won't repair any of the lingering damage done. Yeah, it's really the SNP and Labour who are the hypocrites here Ruth...

SandyCromarty
Living as we do in Scotland, where english conservatism is a minority vote, we are constantly subjected via the majority tory owned media to barrages of how lucky we are to be RULED by a democratically elected westminster government which always acts in the best interests of the public. But which public does a tory government represent is the question, certainly not the working class which is the majority, but if you are extremely wealthy and you are a company owner and tory party donor then the tory party certainly works for you. Even better for the rich when one of their own private school educated and a multi millionaire becomes Prime Minister, then it is a gravy train in motion. Who in their working class right mind could identify with the Tory Party extreme right wing idealism and the likes of Rees Goebbels Mogg. Douglas Ross does. Florentine_Pogen
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/26/charity-founded-by-jeremy-hunt-patient-safety-watch-chief-executive-adam-smith "A charity founded by the chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, paid more than £110,000 – two-thirds of its income – to his former political adviser Adam Smith, who lost his job over a lobbying scandal. Patient Safety Watch, which was set up to research preventable harm in healthcare, paid Smith as its sole employee and chief executive about 66% of its income in the year ending January 2022. Hunt part funds the charity but it also solicits donations from the public on its website. It was established in 2019 to conduct research, but appears to have produced no papers since then. A message on its website says: “We have an ambitious research programme looking into a wide variety of patient safety issues. We will publish details of our forthcoming research on these pages.” However, the page for reports says: “Our reports will be published here – please check back soon for our first piece of research.”
