So where are we at regarding this drivel? Have the LL agreed to another year of B Teams or not? Has the absurd tier 5 Conference been buried or not?

They had an indicative vote on whether or not to accept the B teams again.

There will be a future proper vote on that and the Conference League idea once more information is provided.

I think the 8-8 vote was on B team entry

Yeah you are correct 9-7 on increased relegation spots so Caley Braves voting for it could have potentially meant increased relegation although same can be said of all 9 who voted against increased relegation while tier 6 below has either 3 or 4 relegated in West / East. Although could be 2 in West to be fair this season but looks like changing to guaranteed 3 down from next season with 4 up from leagues below if West teams goes up to Lowland League.

So no conclusion can be drawn about the effect it has on players' development.

And I recall you saying the effect on the League and competitor clubs was profoundly NEGATIVE.

So in the bin, please.

Spot on

Is there likely to be a vote on this issue this year?

Anyone from the clubs update us on this. Please God open up relegation and make our fledgling pyramid more fluid.

The posh end of Bothwell is easy walking distance but seriously doubt they are attracting much of a fanbase from there.

Many of the former inhabitants of Bothwellhaugh wound up in the not so posh end of Bothwell or Bellshill but 60 years on I doubt any of them were waiting for a tier 5 football club as a reason to head back every second Saturday.

Doubt this club lasts more than another 10 years. Once they get relegated the people who are drawn to it now will lose interest.

Easy walking distance is pushing it, 20 minutes to even reach houses on the outskirts of Bothwell and Bellshill. (from travel time map)

8-8 could just as easily been the vote involving all Braves fans

Not really a view on the Braves just a bit of info.

Watched both the first and reserves recently.

The first at Threave in SCC though having no fans, their players all seem local boys happy to be playing there. To be fair from the outside they seem to be trying to become a proper club with the stadium et al so think they should be encouraged moving forward. The reserves appear to be a separate entity as when watched them against St.Cuthberts were the French boys. May even be a case for them becoming a separate entity, apologies for that analogy, and joining the West, waits for 'gtf with that suggestion'.

The podcast, well that's a different fish altogether, they can do one.

Have walked it in real life rather than in cyberspace. Looks like a very generous amount of time is being provided by the software to cross the roads to reach Bothwell compared to walking over to the wee Roman bridge over by Motherwell.

Well that’s obviously BS,   There has been massive changes in Scotland in the past few years mostly progressive mostly positive and embraced by the majority.   Fans are very keen on new plans and ideas when they are good. They hate new shite plans and ideas,  same as they love good traditions and hate historic relics.

That's no way to talk about Jim Leishman...

Pretty sure they do it on a yearly basis. It will be tight again IMO. It is weird that they've picked the B teams as the more urgent issue though.

It hasn't been a yearly basis.

Increased relegation was initially brought up back in 2018 with the move of so many clubs to the EoSFL. Naively perhaps for everyone involved, it was backburnered as the PWG meetings were about to start 😝

Last summer was the first time it was back on the agenda. Some of those that voted for 'no change' were so strongly against, that they tried to prevent futures votes until the SPFL2 Playoff changed. The hope is that the turnover in membership might nudge it to the pro-change camp.

However, it needs someone to propose it.

Money talks and with this conference crap pretty sure the LL feel they need to act swiftly. Hopefully there is enough of the traditional clubs that will just say no and along with that push for better relegation &  promotion with Tier 6.

With no licenced team from SOS perfect opportunity to open up to 2 teams coming up. Nothing against either Dalbeattie or Edin Uni. But that's what a football league structure is about teams going up and teams going down. Not this stagnation.

I see. I do admit I just thought it was a discussion and vote for a different date.

I guess the next time this is presented you'd want to be watertight to stop the shitebag clubs from putting forward permanent 'no change' and cutting below long term.

The obvious question re relegation is. Can a club member propose it at agm or an egm for discussion and voting.  If true that some clubs tried to bury relegation then their licence should be revoked. Absolutely disgusting self preservation, did they think the LL would continue as is verbatim?

There's still a bit of a sense of ownership over the pyramid on the part of former EoS and SoS clubs that made it in through application before Kelty arrived. Nothing that a few more years of relegation won't ultimately cure. Brechin up and Bonnyrigg down could help speeds things along because both Edinburgh Uni and Dalbeattie Star would be relegated and a Bonnyrigg Rose officeholder championed the issue previously. Hope Bonnyrigg Rose stay up though.
