Rangers think their young players playing competitive fixtures against experienced pros in the LL will improve them.

But not as much as they think playing friendly matches against other young players will improve them.

More of this sort of pettiness please. Make it as unpleasant for all 3 of them as possible.

It’s not pettiness. Either they are in the Lowland or not. They should not expect to be able to dictate when matches are played to suit their own convenience.

Good description of the Premiership

It would be a terrible description of the Premiership, given that the second "tier" within the Premiership does not in fact consist of teams "playing above their level" at all,

If you have no chance of winning a league then you are playing above your level. When did anyone other than Celtic or the two Rangers last win the top flight?

Heard that Chairmen of SPFL 2 teams have made it very clear to SPFL that they do not wish to be relegated to the Lowland until the current car crash of a league is sorted out. (No such reservations about the Highland.) So will be interesting to see how the review pans out.

I can't think of a similar other league in Scotland that this statement applies to. League 2 might have some teams playing above their level, but it's not a two tier league.

Arguably the tier above it is though. Or was, last season.

Not rocket science,

Doncaster and Maxwell will come up with a nonsensical plan which will be kicked out by SPFL Lower league Clubs.

Doncaster and Maxwell then blame Lower league SPFL Clubs for holding back Scottish Football.

In reality, Doncaster and Maxwell are happy because they got their paymasters Colts into the Lowland League which was the aim in the first place.

Given that their first team were given the ability to postpone fixtures for friendlies by the SPFL written into the rules, no doubt they thought this would be ok'd.  Ecstatic that they've been denied.

So we should have a 2 team league?

It's fairly clear that basically the best 12 teams are in the top tier.

It works in the Scillies… 😉

What we need is major reform. We should learn from American Football and Ozzie Rules on how to make the game much more competitive. Struck by how many of those who watch lower league football how completely uninterested they are in the top flight because it’s so utterly predictable.

Just like every other league, relegation isn't optional.

They don’t have a choice.

Yep. They could easily have had the sevcolts as Team 19 for week 1 but chose not to.

Delightful.

If the 3 B/Colts teams only got into the LL next season on the back of a Chairman's casting vote then the likelihood is that in 12 months time a vote will go against them.

At least one and maybe two clubs will move to Tiers 6 and or 4 from the LL at the end of next season. They seem likely to be replaced by clubs which would vote against having the B/Colts teams in the LL and so the majority in favour of B/Colts teams will be gone.

This shift in the balance of power may also mean a change in favour of expanding relegation from the LL/promotion to it from Tier 6.

We've seen Edinburgh City, Cove Rangers, Kelty Hearts and now Bonnyrigg Rose move up. Another club moving up from either the LL or HL in a year's time will add to that momentum. Their presence and the failure, so far, of the likes of recent SPFL2 sides to immediately bounce back from Tier 5 is under-mining the SPFL2 clubs' argument against a normal relegation/promotion arrangement with Tier 5, and they know it. Hence the current "Bluster" i.e. panic.

All of this means that the B/Colts teams have only a year to go in which to find a way into the SPFL. They are the ones which are under pressure. The clock is literally ticking for them.

The problem is that special terms for admission to the Lowland League apply to Rangers, Celtic and now Hearts. Admission was granted (just) on payment of a bribe, Colts teams cannot be promoted or relegated, the points gained from their games count or do not count, a Colts team cannot be Champions, only the top legitimate LL team,  the rules of the LL and number of teams in the League can be changed or varied to cater to the particular interests of three teams only. Let them apply for entry to the WOSL and work their way up.

At what level of the WoSFL should they start, Div 4? I’m not particularly in favour of them, but this recurring argument about them starting at the bottom of the pyramid is a flawed one. D

I'm sure the Div 4 teams wouldn’t want to be pumped by double figures every second week.

Then let them buy their place and insert them in the Championship.

I'm looking forward to a couple of years of colts in the 1-2-3 positions in the LL and the embarrassment that should be felt by the rest of them.

why should  any teams that consistently opposed their inclusion feel embarrassed by such a scenario?
