Celtic and Hearts B Teams in Lowland League?

This principle, which you argue so strenuously against, is an already established one.

Stirling University in the EOS & Stranraer in the SOS.

So please don't try and claim this proposal is something different.

Stirling Uni are there because they never resigned from the EoSFL when signing up for the LL. There's meant to have been an Edinburgh City application this year which would have seen them start at the bottom of the pyramid and didn't come with some financial bribery.

Stranraer in the SoS have been denied entry to the LL exactly because they're a reserve side.

So yeah, it is different. This is clubs buying their way into a league when others have been denied on sporting merit.

On the one year issue Rangers, Celtic, and George Fraser seem to be supportive of this Scottish Football Innovation paper. Which according to the SFA includes the introduction of 'B' teams. Something that those behind the project want to implement for 22-23.

Quote

"Having been on the PGB sub group tasked with further developing the well-publicised ‘Scottish Football Innovation’ paper, a project which is still on-going and may well be implemented for season 22/23, it was absolutely clear to me that there is a major gap in the player pathway which would, if not addressed, impact a generation of our best young talent" - George Fraser

Forgive me then for taking the one year thing with a pinch of salt when the same parties behind the idea are actively pursuing making it permanent.

The current proposal might only be for one season but nobody with a brain thinks that's the long term goal. The LL themselves called it a "pilot scheme" in their own literature.

I have to agree, you may well be right.

But the fact is that for this season only, the current LL teams are affected.

If it is a pilot scheme then it it was given the go ahead for this season only we know that any decision to take it further the whole matter would be required to be discussed again.

The eventual decision, would also be taken in the light of actual evidence gained from the pilot scheme.

What evidence are we looking for after a year?

Brechin City may be affected, even if you are naive enough to believe the 'one season only' line.

Nonsense - Brechin City cannot be affected by this proposal at all.

This proposal is for the LL only.

Brechin will not end up in the LL.

So what's your problem with people making it clear how  against it they are? Whether it's one year or 20, most football supporters agree reserve or colt teams shouldn't be in  the league and they certainly shouldn't be able to just buy their way into a league.

Maybe promotion into the SPFL should come with an 'entry fee'?

1) They go to Highland League, Colt teams are brought in to LL then SPFL so harder for Brechin to get back into SPFL

2) They survive playoff. Colts teams are introduced to LL then SPFL they end up playing Colts teams.

Wrong supposition.

I said that Brechin could not be affected by the current proposal which is for the LL only.

Anything other than that would be a new proposal and would be a different matter entirely.

I have stated before that I have no problem with people expressing their views on this proposal .

My 'opposition' is more about the fact that this is a decision to be taken by the current LL teams only. It appears that they are being dictated to by supporters of teams outwith the LL.

This proposal, as it stands affects only current LL teams. Nobody else.

Any change at all after this proposal, is something entirely new. The ramifications of which would need to examined  & discussed by all those affected.

I propose I get to shag George fraser’s wife for a year,  I’ll give her a little bit of cash and it will be good practice.  Might be able to make a porno with it and get some extra exposure on his marriage.

We can see how it goes after a year,  what has he got to lose?

If an uninvited visitor turned up at your house. Would you refuse entry or would you let them in to discuss it?

I'll anticipate to a degree. I don't believe the LL or George Fraser are the prime movers in the proposal. I think he is a willing partner though.

Other teams' supporters expressing an opinion =/= "dictating to".  Attempting to bribe LL clubs = bribery though, however you wish to dress it up.

In what way are the LL clubs been dictated to by people expressing their opinions on pie and bovril?

If the LL are looking to increase the size of the league then it should be from clubs tier 6. Civil Service Strollers have already come out to say they want any discussion to include that so this proposal doesn't just impact the LL clubs even if it is for one season which you need to be extremely naive to believe.

Watched a few minutes of that and I had to turn it off as it was just making me angry.

"Whenever Rangers and Celtic are involved you're going to get an emotive reaction"

IT DOESNT MATTER WHICH TWO CLUBS IT IS NO ONE SHOULD BE SKIPPING THE QUEUE AND NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TWO CLUBS IN THE SAME STRUCTURE

Seven minutes in Ben "What happens at end of 1st year"  George Fraser "That will be up to Rangers and Celtic"

There was that. 12 minutes there was a bit lots of rule changes. So unless they complicate it more and simply scrap the rule about 2nd XIs, that means Stranraer would be eligible for the LL Play-off.

19 minutes was the bit about the OF wanting games after missing out this past year. That's probably true of other SPFL clubs hence Edinburgh City trying to the EoS. So I won't be shocked to see the SPFL Reserve league active next season. They can play in that.

The bit about attendances. It was something like "move it to a Friday or a Sunday" to maximise fans. So basically attract OF casuals and screwing over your own fans.

Oh, and it's only for one year because they're still trying to get into the SPFL. Which is fine apparently because the OF support automatic promotion and relegation from the SPFL to the non-league.

No surprise this is being pushed by people from clubs with no fanbase to speak of. They don't have to worry about a backlash in the same way other clubs would.
