Piss off.

Is there any way to get rid of them all together.

Yes, but as it required the sacrifice of a 14 year-old virgin from Glasgow, we’re shit out of luck. They tried it a few years ago, but she had lied about her background and we got Sevco.

12 team Championship now under consideration.

'A revised reconstruction plan that would create a 12-team Scottish Championship and would introduce Celtic and Rangers colts teams in League 2 , with no relegation from the second tier for a season, is currently under discussion. (Daily Mail, print edition)'

Is this to appease Ken Ferguson by any chance? Appreciate he has just stood down from the board but the timing is very coincidental, especially with Brechin looking directly at the trapdoor.

No reason why, but yeah, the save Brechin train is likely to continue to roll.

The plan actually has further stages after going 12-12-10-10. It goes on to automatically promote the Highland and Lowland champions to go 12-12-12-10, then again to 12-12-12-12.

Not sure why they don't just go the full 4 x 12 straight away, will be large disruption but over a much shorter time scale. Going in steps would just lead to there being little point in the teams in tier 4 trying to stave off relegation. Personally I'd rather it was 3 x 16 as it may lead to more open games in the Premiership and give a larger pool of players the opportunity to play against the best in the country.

Because their reserves aren't wanted. The revised plan is a direct attempt at slightly different bribery than the earlier versions.

I was meaning in general with the club we have and entrants from the highland / lowland to make up the numbers, not with the colts, maybe didn't make that clear in this post but have suggested shoving them in the sea further up this thread.

Far from being just because us jealous diddies hate them etc, it's just giving them an extra means of hoarding players who the other clubs can't then develop.  Other clubs whose only hope of competing above their level now and again is bringing through some players they could never afford to recruit as adults.  Just one more way of cementing dominance for two clubs.

If we have a meritocratic pyramid now, the very least we should be countering with is that they start in the Lowland League.    The real answer needs to be that in the interests of a competitive top league (and credible lower leagues worth competing for), this is not allowed at all.

Well, in an ideal world I'd prefer that the pair of them just went somewhere else and we got shot of all the bile that goes with the pair of them - but we all know that's not gonna happen, the EPL/Championship clubs won't vote them in (turkeys not voting for Christmas etc) and of course the English police forces don't want bus/train loads of them crusading down south every weekend.

Back to the main point.  The problem I have with their colts/academies is the way they just hoover up most of the young talent in Scotland to the extent that it detracts from the other clubs potential. Take Queens for example, this season we have something like four (Maxwell, Breen, Mebude and Dickson) on loan from Govan - and don't get me wrong, that's been good for Queens this season - but of course they probably won't be here next season and so the club is back to square one trying to rebuild again for next season.  I think my point is that if the OF didn't hoover up the best of the talent then (at least some of) those promising young players would probably sign for the lesser clubs and hang around there for two or three seasons whilst they built up their skills and match experience and the lesser clubs would benefit from having better young talent in the process, and maybe even get some fees as the young talent moves on eventually.  However, with the colts approach being suggested here, the lesser sides don't benefit, it makes a mockery of the lower leagues as sporting competitions (because the colts sides will have limitations placed on their progress) and of course the only real benefactors are the OF - which at the end of the day is exactly what this is all about.
