Hendry was fine. He was also not the 2nd coming of Beckenbauer.

Unfortunately the Marshmallo's of this world have already set their troll stalls out well before this match, and they don't allow nuance.

James McFadden manning his troll stall on Sky just now too.

Both their goals are easily avoidable.  Marshall has to palm the first literally anywhere else and the second is the height of laziness from McGregor to just let the boy cross.  Think we played just fine otherwise.

Tierney best player on the pitch for us.

That last twenty minutes was the most excited I've been watching a Scotland game in years. Taking that as a good sign. It was a tough game, but they kept at it and managed to keep us alive for another day, as the defeat would've been a major problem. And just a stunning goal from McGinn; just amazing to see a Scot score an international goal like that.

Austria look alright. Wouldn't mind seeing their games against Denmark; two decent sides with flaws that will lead to goals. Ought to have at least one entertaining match between them.

On the team:

- Marshall's club performances haven't been good recently by all accounts. Hopefully this isn't the start of a decline.

- Tonight showed why McTominay plays in the back three. If we're forcing crosses into the box, our centre backs need to be able to win the headers. Jack Hendry couldn't.

- The McGinn debate is over. Play him further forward. Let Armstrong spell him.

- We still have a striker problem. Dykes can do two things - hold the ball up and press. If we aren't building a gameplan around that, he's the worst of the three options to play.

- I'd love to see more of Tierney driving from deep. O'Donnell is rubbish anyway, so just pull him back and let Tierney bomb forward. We'll pretend we don't have a right hand side.

Mcginn has to play further forward. Id be putting him in instead of christie. Dykes was pretty poor tonight. Adams could potentially play up top with support from mcginn.

The biggest positive is that we have decent options off the bench. Ryan fraser didnt even get on.

Robertsons set pieces were rotten

Austria are a decent side and no surprise based on their FIFA Rankings.

All that said I felt we were more on top in the 2nd half. Almost like we lacked belief.

When we went forward we looked a threat.

A draw is not a disaster if we follow up with 6 points next 2 games. But winning in Israel is like me shagging Natalie Portman. Very unlikely... just very.....

Away you go. The push as the cross is coming is as blatant as you’ll see.

Disagree.

If we had a goal disallowed for that we would be raging.

Tierney bought that a belter. No way there was enough for a foul IMO.

Really bizarre the hard-on people have for Jack Hendry failing because he had a bit of a shite time at Celtic tbh. Done absolutely nothing wrong tonight. He's not going to be Scotland's next superstar, but ffs.

Drawing at home against the second seeds isn't a good result if you want to qualify.

True, but it’s better than a defeat. Can you imagine the mood in here if we lost our opening game at Hampden?

We still seem to be a work in progress.

Sure, if you miss out the bit where Kalajdzic managed to rise, under pressure, and powerfully skew in one of the best headers I've seen in a long time.

Sure, that was avoidable, and totally McGregor's fault.

Literally every defender that's ever played the game has had players score headers against them.  It doesn't make them bad players or even have a bad game.

Nobody wins every aerial battle.
