Why is it relevant if he was as good as Joe Jordan or not? He isn't.

But so what, hes clearly one of the best we have now.

Are we going to start doing this for every player in the squad, comparing them to any player in our history and saying their not good enough?

"he is alright but he is no Scott Dobie"

I was talking to Binos, not you.

It's weird seeing this throwback with Ric and the Captain returning to the forum after all this time away - it's like finding a time capsule to patter from a decade ago and realising how much society has moved on in the meantime.

He's scoring at the fastest rate in his club career, at the highest level so far.

Clearly now is the time to declare him rubbish.

a goal every 2 games over the WC 21-22 qualifiers. But as said we need the fresh analytical input of posters like the Captain to keep us on our toes and the top of our game.......

No shortage of rumours flying around about Dykes leaving QPR with every club under the sun seemingly linked to him. As far as I know he is quite happy at QPR and has a contract until 2024 so I wouldn't automatically think his agent would be playing any games and it wouldn't surprise me if there is genuine interest. Whether he should move is a whole different question.

Let's see how his next six months go he might move to a team in championship that goes up,or maybe a team like Bolonga could pay the £6 million for him they seem to like our Scottish players at the moment

If he continues to hit goals who knows QPR might go up through the play offs themselves

Bits of chat on other threads about Dykes recently: is he a best bet as a sub? Should we only use him from the start Vs minnows? Etc.

Looking at his goal record for us, one of the most impressive aspects is that only two have come Vs what you could describe as minnows - one Vs Faroes and one Vs Moldova. Even then, neither of those sides are Gibraltar esque.

The other six goals have come against either awkward lower cranked teams, comparable teams, or ones stronger and higher than us.

Interesting food for thought.

Not sure any firm conclusions can really drawn from this information
