The issue with saying things like spiking generally is hugely exaggerated, and it’s often just young girls who have drank too much - at what point do you believe that group of people if you feel that is normally the case.

It's perfectly possible to take an individual seriously and believe what they're telling you and still maintain a healthy, rational scepticism about what actually happened or about how common these occurrences are, generally.

It's not a hard binary between 'they're all lying' / 'they're all telling the truth'.

Do you really think you could inject enough GHB, say, into someone to knock them out without them noticing? And using the back of the hand? And how come nobody has ever been caught in the act?

You are a dangerous individual

No idea why you're being downvoted for this, you're pretty much spot on.

I can't speak for those who downvoted his post but my guess would be due to him putting the moronic 'A goat spiked fae a guy wae a needle in a club!?"*_&!' in the same bracket as the other, genuinely heinous acts.

Bit half arsed giving Frank an opportunity to say he stands by what he wrote.

Quote

Mr Gilfeather stands by what he wrote and, as a result, he will no longer be writing for the Evening Express.

I've never understood firing a column writer because they write something you disagree with. Presumably everything that goes into that paper is reviewed at least once? If you have a problem with it, or even think it's going to create a public backlash that you don't really want to have to deal with, don't publish it. It should be pretty clear also that the columnist does not necessarily represent the paper's viewpoint and may diverge from it.

Alternatively, don't even hire someone who might write a column like that. The article written is indeed awful, but are we really claiming no-one saw that before publication and decided it was fine to be published? Not having that. Someone else should be following him out the door.
