Was never going to happen though...they get a wee bit shy when there's any chance of folk actually going toe to toe with them.

As always with bullies.

Know that from the Miners strike. Absolute hardmen when they are in their gang but when chaos happens and you are left one on one with them they are absolute fucking cowards even although they still have their truncheon

That's exactly it.

A lot of people have said they let Rangers celebrate because a lot of cops support them but the real reason is that if that they were too scared of a group that might fight back and who they can't outnumber.

Loads of police and their supporters get really tetchy and outraged when they're called an occupying force then arrest loads of people peacefully protesting the murder of a woman by a police officer. Good going, boys.

Watching some of the scenes on the news. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the police including female officers. This is an absolute PR disaster for the police. Whoever sanctioned this policing approach should be collecting their P45 in the morning

It's disappointing that the police have badly misread the situation, just doesn't look right when it's one of their own that's caused the outrage.

Who can sack the Head of the Met?

Priti Patel, but realistically once the public losses confidence and therefore they no longer police with public consent then they have to go.

The Met had a huge job of rebuilding public trust after a service officer has been charged with some extremely serious crimes. The have tonight set their progress back even further.

The week after they dealt with a public gathering of thick bigots by giving them an escort through the streets of Glasgow and taking selfies.

True colours very much showing at the moment.

Erm yes - it's almost as if one group was legitimate, one group was not, and anyone but an imbecile would be able to distinguish which is which.

They are entirely different forces dealing with entirely different gatherings, both approaches are and were wrong.

The poor police are the victims in all this

Given they are risking their life to deal with illegal gatherings with literally no adherence to social distancing, they are the victims here.
