Troy.1995 Posted March 13, 2021 Share Posted March 13, 2021 Pleasantly surprised that Livi were up for this.But they were.Couple of glaring chances to put this to bed,but collectivly they were the better team on the day and thoughrally deserved the points to secure their top six spot.Accies,i feel still have a chance to do their perenial great escape, the County result will have helped them no doubts. I thought we had a much better balance with Longridge not straying too far from that left back spot leaving space for Forrest to be a good outball for us. He and JET really held up the ball well today giving us a much better platform to get forward. Much better from Devlin today and I thought Fitzwater had a good game as well. LIVIFOREVER Posted March 13, 2021 Share Posted March 13, 2021 Some game for surprises, Jet ran about right up to 80 odd mins, won tons of flick ons, held the ball up well, and scored a peach of a goal. Devlin put in a decent fucking ball. And we won a game. Delighted Martindale proved us all wrong with his team selection getting the points, we were back looking like our old selves, hunting in packs, and driving forward, looked far better playing it on the deck more too. Go figure, we kept lumping balls up to small strikers in Robbo, Reilly, and Poplatnik, we start a huge forward and mostly kept it on the deck, and it worked. Bartley 6/10 Put in a good shift, breaks the game up, not great passing. Sibbald 7/10 Played well, managed to get forward more, seems reluctant to take a shot at goal when the chance arises. Pittman 8/10 Everywhere today, full of running, need this every game. Forrest 6/10 Anonymous first half, showed plenty energy second half, needs better decision making when taking on defenders Jet 7/10 This guy can be effective when he gets plenty of backup, holds the ball up well, good at knock on's, good ball control and passing. Showed a lot more energy today, his weak point is always going to be his pace. Poplatnik Not on long enough, but shouldn't be getting caught offside for his goal Serrano Not on long enough to judge. Best performance from him in a Livi shirt. Was also impressed with Jackson Longridge who I thought looked really confident throughout. Devlin could be unbelievably good, it's frustrating that his final ball is so bad so often. Said it before but he should be training with Mullin to work on it. If we go down a large part will be due to the ongoing injury list and the fact this leaves us with few options on the bench who can make a difference. With the likes of Templeton,Thomas,Lewis Smith,Ogympe and even Winter unavailable we had Moyo and no one else to come on to freshen things up going forward. As someone else said no disgrace getting beat but time is running out and we really fell flat after a string of good performances. For me just shows how solid and under appreciated McMann is for us - he was a missive miss with our left flank totally exposed.
