Celtic vs Ranger55 - 21 March 12pm

I'm also enjoying that the Scottish Government is holding two ludicrously contradictory positions here, simultaneously saying "We ,the Government, are completely powerless to prevent supporters gathering at Parkhead, so we must consider if this threat is real and whether the game should be postponed" and "Rangers should have sent out a tweet telling their supporters to go home on Sunday which would have resulted in the crowds dispersing".

No one holds OF fans in lower regard than I do but the SG are getting a bit excited here.

It's either an empty threat or a total minter.

Did you not see celtics recent tweet in regards to the old firm? Best delete/edit that.

It's deflecting attention away from a lot of negativity though, politicians eh...

I don't know what more the Rangers could have done, there are plenty of pictures of them telling the culprits to go home. At one point the entire squad ran at the gates in a socially distanced manner to tell them to leave and pictures show arriving board members clearly gesturing the errant well wishers should get tae.  #witchunt

Remember they never told the fans to go home.

The point is that they could have done more. For the players to go to the gates and celebrate with the pillocks that were there, and for Gerrard to be hanging out of the window celebrating with the same pillocks, is not “doing everything they could have.”

No they couldn't have done any more Joey, if the police and government struggled to do anything then what chance does a fitba team have...

Everything possible was done and you know it.

This is what a statement looks like telling your fans to stay at home and if you read the full statement it is very clear telling fans what to do. Get that right and you don’t have to play anything over a tannoy as fans have already got the message before venturing out.

So yes there is more that could be done. There was not a single explicit message from Rangers prior to fans turning up saying Do not come to the stadium - stay safe

Gerrard last press conference prior to the weekend said he wants fans to stay safe but his focus was the team he then pretty much abdicated responsibility to security and the higher ups for making sure that happened. He seemed to be more concerned about the fireworks landing on the park and him getting a little bit of a fright

Rangers put out no statements on Twitter or otherwise or did Steven Gerrard that explicitly state do not come to Ibrox , stay at home.

The state of jinky here, nothing on Twitter,  apart from the manager making a statement which was posted on Twitter....

Which at no time does he tell fans “stay at home do not come”

State of you saying nothing else could have been done 🤡

You **** and your mental gymnastics :unsure2:

I just like poking fun at Celtic fans who just can't accept that Rangers fans currently have the bragging rights so try to change the narrative into "we done 9 in a row" or "unprecedented quadruple trebles". Just take your medicine and hope that next season you have the bragging rights. Nothing you say is going to bring Rangers fans down from cloud 9 I'm afraid.

When he says that fans should stay safe and stick to the guidelines, what do you think that means?
