There's zero point in replacing McInnes unless you can get a coup, but he'd went stale at Aberdeen and fans were restless. Still reckon McInnes is one of the best managers in Scotland, but 8 years is a long time to keep freshening a squad up without failing. Only truly brilliant managers seem to do it. I can't see Aberdeen finding pulling a manager like that from nowhere.

They'll appoint someone not as good as McInnes, but fresh lick of paint to try and get them kicking on again. Robinson is ideal for that IMO.

Derek Adams written all over this.

I wonder if we'll ever find out why McInnes knocked back Rangers in 2017. Maybe he just didn't back himself to win the league but in hindsight it's a massive sliding doors moment for everyone involved.

The general consensus is that Rangers would not pay the compensation so wanted *** dmc to resign,

And Milne ofcourse would do anything to keep him so offered him a bumper payrise that Rangers at that time wouldnt match.

Jim Goodwin is tailor made for the Aberdeen job. Previous St Mirren Managers who went there did ok.

Interesting to note which clubs those who are touting Goodwin support.
