Hamilton Accies v The Trophy Laden Saviours of Scottish Football

Recommended Posts

As the only team who’s stood up to and ended the dominance of the richest team in the land, look forward to Brian Easton wearing his Saints top for the Guard of Honour for Scotland’s second force.

2-1 Accies. They always seem to beat us in the match in the second half of the season through there.

Bring out the second string...

Clark

Kerr - Gordon - McCart

Brown - Bryson - Gilmour - Tanser

MOH - Melamed - May

... allow the rest to get fucking hammered over the next few days.

No, this isn't the attitude of champions. We must push on now. Three wins and we'll probably finish in the top six. Should be easy enough.

Clark

Kerr - Gordon - McCart

Rooney - McCann - Craig - Booth

Wotherspoon

Melamed - Kane

Interesting that you have decided to drop League Cup 2021 winner Craig Conway for League Cup 2021 winner Guy Melamed. Can you explain your workings please, fan of the League Cup 2021 winners The Real Saints?

If any League Cup 2021 winner needs a rest, it's probably 50 year-old League Cup 2021 winner Craig Conway.

Hope the St Johnstone players go on a 3 day bender and are nursing a cup final victory hangover. This is a massive game for us. 3 points is a must really.

We might only score 3 this time if they do that. 8)

More seriously this will be a difficult return to reality for the players after today’s high. Accies have looked good in recent weeks and certainly don’t look like a side who should be sitting bottom of the league, certainly recently.

I have no idea what Davidson will do here. The 11 that started today will have to display an incredible level of professionalism to play a regulation league match 3 days after such a colossal high today. I suspect we’ll freshen it up - Bryson in for Craig, Tanser for Booth and Melamed for Conway seem like obvious changes immediately - and do our best to get the 3 points. Anything less and top 6 will be gone for us.

Mix things up a bit. Win this and there’s still an outside chance if top six.

Melamed May Middleton

Accies to sneak it.

This is what I was thinking too, only concern is that plastic seems like Guy's kryptonite going by the performance at Livingston. Can't see him not starting though, maybe even with Brown for Rooney, save him for Hibs. Hopefully Muzz will be OK for the bench and is able to get some minutes in.

Was also thinking that we might see MOH reprise the RWB role, stick Middleton in behind May-lamed.

Get the feeling that the reported shenanigans with Tanser's transfer talk, as well as Booth's performances of course, have been behind his lack of starts as much as the injury. Just speculation but hopefully it's given him a wee shake.

1-1, May and Callachan. If there was ever a time for Hamilton to play us, it's now.

That's a very fair point - not sure how I forgot that.

Happy with that team, or maybe MOH instead of Middleton as Mikey must be keen to prove himself, and has done well at NDP in the past.

Get MOH tae f**k, the boys lost that one trick he had,  while adding in things like sending offs in return. Give Glen a run out, he's what MOH could've been.

Think the manager is now in the position where he has earned the trust of the support. Suspect reactions like we saw when he named the semi-final team will be a thing of the past. He'll still make mistakes at times but he's stocked up on credit and that makes his job a lot easier.

With St Mirren having to go to Ibrox, top six is still a shout but he'll know he has to make changes tomorrow night, although I think he'd have done that anyway given the opposition.

Just not sure where Middleton fits into the 3-5-2 though? He's too direct to play the role Wotherspoon does IMO but he will be a player that probably needs a rest.

I wouldn't be completely shocked if we see a back four for the first time since the autumn...
