Greenock Morten v Dundee FC (27-02-21)

Recommended Posts

We don't  seem to have the balls to go forward when winning.

Made Dundee look dangerous in that second half. Failed to get into their defence who have been gifting goals recently.

Looks like we have saved McPake for another week or hopefully season.

While we were too deep and you can point to how we sat off for the second goal, generally we were that deep from 2-1 up because we were forced to be with how Dundee were dominating. That all came down to Orsi not being able to get us out.

Another two points dropped and we simply have to win next week.

Not retaining a lead is disappointing but by all accounts we didn't deserve to win and rode our luck at other moments. This idea that we'd win easily 'if only we didn't sit back after scoring' is garbage though. The team is forced back by virtue of not being very good in the first place and the other team pushing harder for a reply. That's how football works at any level.

Having Fjortoft, Lyon and Oliver instead of the current starters would improve the team to a degree and get a few more points IMO, but it's going to be grim, attritional fayre regardless until this farce of a campaign is over.

Does us absolutely f**k all.

Need to be starting Anderson and probably Mullen now, if only for the energy they bring. As soon as both were on we were faster, more alert and creating worries in the Morton box. Even if Mullen can't find the target with his foot, he made a big impact with his sheer will to get about and make plays happen, far more impactful than Osman fucking Sow.

2 points from 12 in this league is pathetic, simple as that. Because he didn't lose though, things will be 'looking up'.

Didnt watch it but sounds another grafter of a game. Cummings scored but that combination with Sow isnt exactly tearing this league up. Mullan scored but at this point I will treat that as a statistical outlier.

1st half you’d never want to see. 2nd half very strange subbies and wondering how his mate stayed on the park when others are replaced. Mullen and Anderson’s endeavour improved the performance.

Big point for Dundee! Edges them further from the drop. Morton must be disappointed dropping points though

Good to have you back. How many of Morton's team did Falkirk release because they weren't good enough?

It was just the one yesterday, Cameron Blues. That doesn't discredit the great draw that Dundee achieved though!
