Raith Rovers vs. Alloa Athletic

Recommended Posts

Armstrong... Jings. He’s been like this for months, in fairness to him he never hides and in general play he’s a bit of a nuisance. Won quite a lot of free kicks for us today and he’s involved a lot.

But quality? Totally gone.

We’re playing fine in general. Alloa have had one spell of play in our half and scored. We can’t get behind them and they block everything in front of them though so it’s going to be hard to actually score.

The only certainties in life, death, taxes and the Rovers struggling to breakdown a dogged and well organised Alloa side.

Dundee (twice) are the only team we have come from behind against in the league to get points from this season which is a huge worry.

We’ve not been great but I’m not sure we’ve been as bad as made out. We’re not anywhere near as bad as QOS, Hearts and Arbroath games, a very low bar admittedly. I am still hopeful we will get something from the game. Alloa look threatening from set pieces, a second goal for them and it is definitely game over. Better final ball from us in the wide areas and we’ll get some joy.

Sounds nice.

Pretty resolute first half, only disappointment was we went in to our shell a little bit after we scored.

Cameron again playing well up top and looks like Trouts, Scougall and Kev are getting further forward than usual to give him some support.

Heatherington is absolutely wasted down the left though.

Agreed, our centre midfield has no teeth without him and as a result we are really struggling for possession. When we do manage to get on the ball we have looked decent enough and it was a really well worked goal. Hard to see us getting through another 45 like that though.

Poor Hetherington too, his weekly booking very harsh this week, looked more like a foul on him.
