Ayr v Arbroath

Muirhead walking straight off and Kerr going straight down the tunnel speaks volumes..

Big Aero is the only one up for this . The rest , the “ballers” will be off to their next contract in May . They have disgraced this club . Kerr will have to carry the can for them . But to have no strikers or goal scorers to field at Championship level is unforgivable. He has too go tonight .

High ball after high ball to Zanatta. Feel sorry for Zanatta he looks decent when ball is at his feet. Absolutely clueless from our manager. Time to go I'm afraid or inevitable play off defeat to Partick on the cards on the  assumption we don't finish bottom. Our best hope is null and void for Bottom 2 leagues.

After a much below par first half when Ayr could have been 2 up, we did much better second half. Solid defence as ever (we’ve conceded the same as Hearts) but we strung a few more passes together plus more energy and determination. All these narrow leads are nail biting as f**k but that’s a good result to keep the run going. Still think we’re in a relegation struggle but we’ve given ourselves breathing space.
That was excellent and remarkably fair commentary.

Well done Arbroath, on form and capitalising on us being gutless and void of ideas.

Pfff, hard to defend this any longer. In this truncated season we've no time to arse about. Give me 8th now, but, there is nothing to suggest this team of heartless bland-merchants are up for the fight.

Are we allowed to panic yet?

Players all over the place out of position, bringing in random kids before kick off and continual awful substitutions.

Unfortunately time is up. We won’t beat Morton next week with him in charge and it’ll be 9th at best.

Hilson energy and work rate absolutely superb. Back 4 and keeper solid. Never played our best but was scraggly confident in seeing it out. No shock our goal came off the back of Linn and Williamson putting in work down the left.

Mikey McKenna what a finish.

McGavin is the strange one for me, what's the problem there ?

Yes, our balance is terrible, 4 wingers, 2 midfielders and no strikers in that side, although having said that we all celebrated the signings of Smith, Walsh, Chalmers and even Zanatta when they happened, we also knew we already had McCowan and Moffat so none of us can say we all knew better, as we didn't.

Today wasn't terrible when taken in isolation, we actually created more than we have for weeks and never looked in any sort of threat, however we failed to take any of our numerous chances and then got caught out by a cracking strike at the other end, so when things aren't going, they're really not going.

Fair play to Arbroath, they saw the game out well and could even have added a second near the end.

Yes, we are in trouble now, although certainly not terminal (yet) and the Morton game has now become a MUST Win I'm afraid, although the biggest worry is the hit to the confidence as that could do even more damage long term.

Let's just hope Drey Wright is back for next week as hopefully that would restore the balance we so badly need.......
