I've been meaning to do this for a while but I think I first thought of it around December and didn't want to have PMs for this and the Dead Pool coming at the same time. The premise should be straightforward. Send me a PM with your ten favourite video games ranked in order. I'll tally the results with 10 points for 1st, 9 for 2nd and so on. I'll then drip-feed the results to you over a few weeks, allowing time for discussion of each game. If there are weird versions or things of whatever you're voting for, make sure you're clear with whatever you want included on the list. - If you want to add in a few reasons for picking a game, I'll share them when that game is posted. If you want to save me some work and post those yourself, that's fine too. - Please don't post your lists in the thread. If enough people do that the results could be spoiled, and the thread would be a bit shite. Talking about a few games you think of should be alright, and I'm sure it'll help other people remember some games they might have forgotten. - Since this is a football forum I'm going to assume that various iterations of FIFA and Football Manager could easily fill about 20 slots out of the top 50. I don't know how many people will vote for these games but I'm reluctant to include lots of different years when there's often little variation between them. I had the idea of filtering the FIFAs down by console generation - every game released on PS2 grouped together, etc. But that doesn't really work for FM. If anyone has any ideas how to handle this, have at it. Voting will run until the end of the month or until it looks like nobody's voting anymore. The problem is with something so subjective as this is that games are a medium that we cant have universal access too like films or music. I bet Goldeneye 64 will feature high. Never played it. Nor have I played many console games past the PS2. Besides we all know the best game of all time is half life. See, most of those games (except Portal 2 prob) were childhood favourites of mine, so I have a bias there too. Always enjoyed Crash Bandicoot and is included, but I can only work with what tech I've got now. Genuinely the only game in the last 5-10 years that I truly enjoyed as an experience was the 2016 DOOM. Recently bought a PS2, planned to look to buy a few classics in decent condition and expand my scope. Definitely separate Champ Man and Football Man, though. i.e. Championship Manager finished fourth overall, with CM 01/02 being the most popular version, and CM 2 trailing far behind. Here's the thread for the last time we did this, if anyone needs inspiration.
