Hi everyone,

There might still not be any lower league football to watch but we have some lower league football to listen to.

We have Ashfield boss Paul Maxwell and the West of Scotland League’s interim secretary Kennie Young on the latest episode of the Down The Divisions podcast. The episode's synopsis is below.

We're on all podcast players including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean, Acast, Google Podcasts and Pocket Casts.

Thanks for all your support!

042 Paul Maxwell: Ashfield, veganism, cricket pad shinnies & Maradona tears PLUS Kennie Young on needing 10 dates to finish the season

PAUL MAXWELL scored over a hundred goals in three spells as a striker at Ashfield.

The Milton man was signed after playing as a trialist against his local team – then went on to help them climb the leagues.

Since 2018 he’s been the manager trying to bring those fortunes back to Saracen Park.

The Field share their ground with the Glasgow Tigers Speedway team.

And after a tough start to a covid-hit campaign, we’ll hear how Maxi is planning to get them back on their bike when football returns.

When exactly that will be is anyone's guess.

The government announced this week they aren't prepared to sanction a restart until infection figures fall further.

That situation will be reviewed again on March 1. Interim West of Scotland League secretary Kennie Young will also join us to discuss just exactly what that means for the rest of the campaign.

Kilbirnie Ladeside assistant manager Des Roach brings us news of events in the lower leagues in his new Roach’s Roundup slot.

Then, to finish off, we’ll look back at Paul’s playing career, which also included spells at Dumbarton and Irvine Meadow.

We'd also like to give a quick mention to our sponsors FortyFour Creative.
