Lions initially waived TE Hunter Bryant for a non-footballing injury but has returned a day later & is on the non-football injury (NFI) list. Won't count against the 90 player off-season roster limit.

Lions have taken the 5th year option for C Frank Ragnow  keeping with the Lions through 2022. No brainer as Ragnow was one the Lion's better players last season making the Pro Bowl & second-team All Pro.

Lions have added G Evan Heim. Played college with Div II Minnesota State & went undrafted in 2020. Had contact from 28 teams but never got a chance to take part in a pro day prior to the 2020 draft.

TE Josh Hill who joined less than two months has opted to retire. Played for the Saints for 8 seasons.

Related to the Josh Hill & Hunter Bryant news  ex-Lion TE Darren Fells last with the Texans has joined the Lions. Was with the Lions in 2017.

Lions are waiving RB Kerryon Johnson after three seasons with the team. Put up 1225yds & 8tds rushing with receiving numbers of 61 receptions for 527yds & 3tds. I liked Johnson & he should find a team fast enough.

C Frank Ragnow is now the league's highest paid player in the position with  a 4 year deal worth $13.5 million per year totaling $70 million. The O-line foundation for the team is pretty much set for at least the next three years.

And in the most earth shattering & ground breaking news the Lions have added another LS in Scott Daly last seen in the XFL with the New York Guardians. Good luck toppling our lord & saviour the Muhl.

I really like the Darren Fells pickup for the Lions. Loved him with the Browns. For a guy whos supposed to just be a third-string "blocking" TE he makes a ridiculous amount of plays.

Lions reported to be looking at trading OT Tyrell Crosby.

The Detroit Lions are giving some consideration to trade offensive tackle Tyrell Crosby according to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Per Fowler, the Lions are “giving indications it will consider or look to move Crosby.”

A former fifth-round pick, Crosby has served as the team’s backup “swing” tackle for the past three seasons, capable of filling a spot on either the left or right side of the offensive line. He has started a total of 18 games since 2018, including 11 last year at right tackle.

With the drafting of Oregon’s Penei Sewell in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Lions obviously have their right tackle of the future. That leaves Crosby, again, as an odd man out of the starting lineup.

Trading Crosby would be a significant risk for the Lions, as he offers a versatile, reliable option in case of injury to either of the Lions’ starting tackles. However, if the Lions’ main focus is on the future, Crosby may not be a part of it. He’s entering the final year of his rookie deal, and he has played well enough to potentially warrant a chance at a starting job in the NFL. He will not have that opportunity in Detroit with Sewell locked up on the right side and left tackle Taylor Decker signed through 2024.

Beyond Crosby, the Lions have Matt Nelson and Dan Skipper to back up either Decker or Sewell. Nelson, a converted defensive lineman, started one game last year and played in a total of 241 snaps. While Skipper has only played in 58 offensive snaps since entering the league as an undrafted prospect in 2017.

Lions have waived FB Nick Bawden.

DL Jashon Cornell has been hit with a three game ban for violating the leagues substance policy. The violation happened in an incident that lead to misdemeanor conviction of 4th degree of driving whilst impaired in July 2020.

With the all the Todd Gurley rumours things have happened at RB not involving Gurley. Rakeem Boyd has been waived with an injury settlement & Michael Warren signed. Warren went undrafted in 2020 & spent time with the Eagles, Panthers & [Redacted].

NT John Atkins has been waived.
