Can't believe we've nicked 2nd 😆

Never in doubt. We will be lucky to meet you in a week's time playing the way we did tonight. It would be great to finish on a high by papping the Pars oot the play offs 😊

And we come to a close for this thread in its intended form, whether or not it is used further is yet to be seen.

Dunfermline not really bothered about potentially getting 3rd, didn't field their strongest XI, and got beat by relegated Alloa. Boring, not focusing much on this. At least Peter Grant went out with a win.

A really poor performance from Raith against the champions to end the season, and even if they hadn't been given a contentious red card I doubt they would've fared much better. A poor turn in form for the Rovers as they now look towards playing their Fife rivals on Wednesday in the hope of managing the rare consecutive prmotions. John McGlynn will have to pick his side up from this defeat and find the energy and ability they've had for much of the season if they're to do so.

Despite the trials, tribulations, and McPake-isms, Dundee squeak into 2nd place on the final day thanks to some help from Hearts and a quite frankly very comfortable win at Palmerston, a place where Dark Blues fans have dreaded in the past but has been fruitful ground for the Dee this season. Stephen Dobbie didn't get the send-off he perhaps deserved, but for Dundee this suddenly great form, now unbeaten in 8 straight league games and  having gained 18 points out of the last possible 24, will look to take it into the games that really count after a week off watching two Fife derbies.

The final standings in the play-off positions:

Thanks to all who've read and interacted with the thread, hope it's been at least slightly compelling and worth the time. All the best to the teams who've just missed out on the play-offs, and best of wishes to Dundee in the play-offs and neither of the other teams 😉 Hopefully won't be making a thread like this next season, but it's been fun nonetheless.

Who we all wanting if our preferred team gets through to the final?

Kilmarnock look the strongest of the 3 and Lafferty could have a field day against any of our defences, but it'd be tasty to go up at their expense.

Hamilton just won't die, but they've been our main divisional 'rivals' (for lack of a better term) since about 2008 and would be good to get one over them once again.

Ross County look do'able but the absolute shame of losing a play-off against John Hughes would be too much.

If you could just draw Killie and relegate them so we’ve got 4 derbies (8 if you don’t want to upset QOS fans) next season it would be greatly appreciated.

Normally I'd be rooting for a club like Kilmarnock that have spent far too long without tasting lower league football to get down, but seeing as we're probably going down the chute at the other end of the league, I'd quite like them to stay 11th and body Dundee in the final instead for the hilarity.

Both Fife sides look ropey at this stage so I'm not really considering them as serious promotion candidates.

Given Ross County’s defensive injuries, they or Hamilton are the odds on favorites...and even the Accies are probably too wretched to save themselves this time. But, having said that, the Killie fans are shitting themselves worse than the QoS fans were here, and possibly with good reason after today’s results. Given the relative even nature of the three sides competing to face them, the winner will have a fair chance.

I don’t know about that. Raith have had injury troubles for the run in, and may be getting a bit healthier. The Pars seem to be getting back in form. I wouldn’t bet against any of the playoff contenders as making it to the finals.

Disappointing only play off final live on tv especially if sky already got the rights. Given how Sky have been padded out their channels to make package look bigger surprised they don't have a Scottish football channel.

To be fair to BBC Alba are showing Championship and league 1 play offs (surely this day and age should be option to press red button for English commentary). Think they only ever previously showed championship play off finals so an improvement there. Would be great to have pyramid play off final especially this season even if just on bbc website/iplayer.

Wonder if BBC have highlights rights for play offs. They have rights for Premiership highlights so not sure where this falls under. Think it is lazy of them not be to able to cover championship on Sunday sportscene highlights show. Just even goals round up like Soccer Sunday on sky would do with English leagues.

I take it the Premiership Playoffs have the five subs rule, as opposed to the Championships three. What about the Championship playoffs that will feature predominantly League One teams?

interesting point. My reading of the rules is that 3 subs is the automatic ruling and the expectations put in place don't state the play-offs,  therefore it should 3. Which it should be,  5 subs have been completely unnecessary and the competitions that use it have been worse as a result.

Guess we'll find out when the team lines come out tomorrow.

Edit- got the press release,  3 subs. thankfully.

Play-off semi (both legs) live on BBC Scotland, with the quarter-final (both legs) also live starting next season.

Sky originally had the rights to all the play-offs, but handed them back last summer. It seems odd that it’s taken until now for the BBC to acquire them, meaning they miss out on the quarter-final for this season.

You just know someone in power has settled down to watch the game last night and been hacked off it wasn’t on.

Remarkable that this wasn’t noticed until now.
