Right in their faces, high pressure, very fit. The Gold substitution was a brilliant call. No team should be planning on how they going to use atrocious conditions to pull back the game. They were entirely correct to get the ref telt. It’s just unfortunate the ref was completely in the wrong and not willing to listen. Obviously I wasn’t there yesterday but having watched some of it and the highlights it didn’t look that bad. I have been to many games at Gayfield, and other grounds in much worse conditions than that, which were played to completion. I remember one in particular against Queens Park probably about 20 years ago where every time their keeper took a goal kick, the ball would fly back and out for a corner, without bouncing. Thicko never learned and kept doing it. In windy conditions it’s simple - keep the ball low and when you have the wind you shoot on sight and whip in corners, when it’s against you defend like buggery and close them down to stop long range efforts. The wind was a factor in our poor performance at East End on Wednesday., stifling our quick passing game. Maybe Dunfermline should resign from the SPFL and take up summer football instead. When a game is called off because of the wind, the main reason is to ensure player safety. It wasn't unsafe to play yesterday, so why should the ref have called it off?
