Morton vs Raith Rovers

Recommended Posts

To be honest we are lucky Morton don’t have anyone up top because the chances we missed it potentially could have came back to haunt us, saying that we played some neat and tidy football and never looked like conceding and that man Hendry along with big frankie and Mandy  were my stick outs, Morton tv very good stream and a balanced commentary to boot

Shitfest of a 1-0 win, 3 points and well in contention for the play-off, I'll take that all day long.

We wil play better and lose games but we totally bossed this one 0 shots on target for the home side says it all

A gritty 1-0 win would be most welcome.

Called it. This is going to sound very stupid but I’m actually more happy with that today that if we had went away, played an open attacking game and won 5-2 again. We know the team can do that but it was nice to see a different side to them today.

Wasn’t pretty but we battled hard, defended well and thoroughly deserved the win. Obviously Morton lack any real quality, particularly in the final third but it was encouraging after Wednesday that Thomson barely had a save to make.

Between Hendry and Musonda as man of the match for me. Hendry really bossed things in the middle of the park and Musonda strolled it. Very welcome after his performance on Wednesday.

Almost a sweeper role between Mendy and Musonda suited Davo and he was solid. Have to say, Mendy was good too although he struggled when pulled into the channels defending one on one. Superb in the air though.

Very impressed with the coverage by Morton. Really enjoyed listening to Andy Ritchie.

Thank f**k I don't have to watch another game on that pitch for a few weeks.

Starting to worry a bit now, we're just not showing anything these last few weeks and the players look a bit flat, after an initial good reaction when Hopkin left. Raith always looked like they could step things up if they needed to, without being anything great either.

Away to Caley Thistle/Hearts over the next 2 weeks, so not expecting much from those 2.

Caely game will be postponed. They are the new 1980s Dumbarton.

Strolled through the game without looking great. Morton worked really hard, but there is zero quality there at all.

Fair play to the lads. Defended very very well and kept the ball. After going ahead early doors, that's all we had to do really.

The coverage was fantastic, easily the best in this league. Commentary was partisan without being obnoxious, and balanced without being patronising. Really enjoyed it.

Seven without a win and a squad full of League One jobbers. If we had a manager we'd be calling for his head.

Looks like you'll be back where you belong soon haha, you'll likely be swapping divisions with Falkirk which makes it more amusing.

Yeah. Didn't watch today but delighted with the result and the reports. If we keep this win one, lose one, sequence we'll probably make the play offs.

That was great from Rovers. Adapted to a dreadful pitch, played a totally different way, did the dirty work, and were never under any threat of letting in a goal. Three points won without really worrying much at all. Terrific.

Back three worked well. Mendy just looked like another Championship player which is huge praise for him, Davidson a completely different player to midweek and Musonda had the cigars out. Only negatives were the knocks to Jamie MacDonald and Jamie ‘Goolan’, hopefully nothing major. Would be good to get an update on the rest of them (Bene, Matthews, Vaughan, Tait). Starting to rack up yet again.

Seven points clear of 5th, and we play them next week at home. John McGlynn, eh?
