Morton vs Raith Rovers

Recommended Posts

Even with Raith having a few injuries, looking at these teams tells you both the good job McGlynn has done in recruitment and the appalling one Hopkin did in the summer.

If you're building a combined XI from players on the park today than Strapp is the only Morton player who gets in it, and even that he's been off form for a few games.

Omar and Blues is a League Two midfield, and it's not even a good one.

Other than the fact that you see 5 of our 6 total defensemen playing today, two of whom are pretty much universally regarded by the fans as not really capable at this level (and, yes, one of them scored). Still have the fear our thinness will bite our asses.

They were working with entirely different levels of budget though. As much as Hopkin's stockpiling of utter jobbers in the same pointless no. 10 role is worthy of hounding, it is the board's turn the lights off until we get out the door mentality that has seen not only fall behind the likes of Raith in the summer, but also all of our direct rivals in the relegation battle in the  January transfer window.  While every other team was strengthening, our board did f**k all until a couple of days ago and that has helped cost us three critical matches.
