100GroundsProject
In the interest of staying positive, I’m starting to put together my bucket list for when spectator football returns. As a football photographer, I’d be really keen to hear recommendations for scenic amateur football grounds in Scotland. This could include Saturday morning leagues, Sunday morning leagues, or summertime leagues. Below are a few I’ve already earmarked: Scourie (North Caledonian League) Shiskine (Isle of Arran League) Keiss (Caithness Amateur League) Gairloch/Aultbea United (Skye and Lochalsh Amateur Football League) Hopeman (Moray Welfare League) Blackthorn Rovers (Greenock and District Welfare League) Normandy Star (Dumfries Amateur Sunday League) Edited January 26, 2021 by 100GroundsProject
latapythelegend
There is a pitch that uses the boundary wall to Berwick Castle to semi-enclose it. Not quite as picturesque as the other mentioned but certainly unique and worth looking at. Played on most pitches in Stirlingshire/West Lothian and nothing stands out as being a braw setting to be honest.
cmontheloknow
Some nice ones I have seen, but it depends what you want. Nice lochside location for when Lochgilphead Red Star play at the school Nice view of Ailsa Craig from the interstingly sloping pitch at Dunure There is a stunning view from the pitch at Port William (behind me!) The view down to Loch Gilp from King George V Park in Ardrishaig The pitch at Lochranza I love Cil Andreas at Tarbert is rusticly scenic Edited January 27, 2021 by cmontheloknow

afca32
The pitch at Lochinver is enclosed by a cliff with the sea loch just across the road. Ancrum in the Borders have a lovely wee pitch.

Wonderful place. Image below. What clubs play at Ardrishaig and Dunure? Both look very interesting.

This pitch only seems to get used over the summer for an annual tournament with local Scottish/English amateur teams. Great fun on a decent summer’s night. 23 hours ago, afca32 said: Ancrum in the Borders have a lovely wee pitch. There’s a few in the Borders... Earlston is nice and would always play like a bowling green. Derbies at Greenlaw can always be tasty with decent crowds. Tweedmouth at the Arches in Berwick was my favourite though, when they cut the grass! Edited January 28, 2021 by Spyro

No idea who uses the Dunure pitch tbh but it is maintained. or at least was on my most recent visit. Nice pic of Lochranza.
CM.
This got me thinking of all the pitches in KIrkintilloch. Waterside Amateurs play here which isn't the worst view considering the place is a shitehole.

The best location of a pitch I have ever seen and the slope reminded me of one of the pitches in the Cowan Park in Barrhead in the 60s and 70s.
