Division C

XCTR94 beats The_Kid1433 by resignation.

Just an unfortunate Queen blunder that ruined that game, you were doing well to evade my earlier attempts at trying to trap the Queen but a possible misclick or just a lapse in concentration cost you there buddy. Good game!

Division C, round 6

N5_Spur defeats mackieboz by checkmate.

Another tight game, though an early error made the difference.

Good game, see you for the return.

Well played mate. It wasn't tight at all though, that early gift of my horsey f**k threw me into a wee fit and I couldn't get out. Looking forward to the rematch!

N5_Spur defeats Strachanovski by resignation.

Another even game which could have gone either way. I think a bishop/knight pairing of mine helped tie things down for a while and then an exchange of mid-range pieces helped me keep pressure on Strachanovski's king.

Again, looking forward to the rematch.

Cheers, a stupid blunder with my rook ruined a great game.

Thank you.

TROGDOR!!!!

There were times during that game when I allowed myself a faint hope that I might get a draw out of it. How naive of me.

I even managed to (briefly) promote a pawn, but still lost. It would've been less cruel to just hammer me rather than having 1 v 2 pawns at the end.

Well played, though.

Dearyme defeats Board_stupid by resignation.

I had to be pretty careful in that ending tbf. I must have counted the promoting moves out 5 or 6 times. If I make the wrong move that position is actually drawn. Around about here...

There is a point around about where you can capture on f6 which I think maybe forces a draw.

You really weren't far away. Thanks for the game. I'm looking forward to having the white pieces in the return.

Thanks for the game. Early season shambles on my part.

Dearyme also given me a spanking. Well played.

Dearyme beats AH13STU

I'm not sure I'd have called it a spanking. In spite of me 'missing a win' according to chess.com which was actually winning a piece.

It was about here where I felt I had the initiative and a decent advantage. After blocking in your light squared bishop.

I pondered advancing my kingside pawns as far as it gives my king very little protection and could have left me open to a perpetual check later on. Blocking in the Bishop was worth the risk.

Thanks for the game.
