The NFC champion Buccaneers have come through 3 road games to reach the season finale and will be playing in their 2nd Super Bowl after winning it all in 2002. After an 11-5 regular season record which seen them earn a wildcard spot the Buccs beat the Washington Football Team (31-23), New Orleans Saints (30-20) and the number 1 seed Green Bay Packers (31-26) on their postseason run. Free agent signing Tom Brady will be playing in his 10th super bowl having won 6 of them in his Patriots tenure. Head Coach Bruce Arians will be coaching his 1st Championship game as an NFL Head Coach, though he has won a ring as the offensive coordinator of the 2009 champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

The AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to win back to back Super Bowls after their success in Miami last season when beating the 49ers. This will be the Chiefs 4th appearance in the big game. They are led by the 2018 MVP and 2019 Super Bowl MVP Patrick Maholmes and a terrifying group of skill players which include speedster Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce at Tight End. The Chiefs finished with a 14-2 regular season record which earned them the number 1 seed. They’ve beaten the Browns and Bills on their way to Tampa. This is Andy Reid’s 3rd super bowl as a head coach and he has a 1-1 record in the season finale.

These 2 teams met back in week 12 when the Chiefs jumped out to a 17-0 1st quarter lead and held on for a 27-24 win in Tampa.

Chiefs will win. They’ll win it next year. They’ll win it the year after. The Chiefs are the new Patriots. Mahomes is the new Brady. Kelce is the new Gronk. The Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers are the new Jets, Dolphins, and Bills. Diddy fodder to be scraped off Mahomes shoes, year after year. Reid is the new Belichick. Hunt is the new Kraft. Arrowhead is the new Gillette. The AFC West is the new AFC East. The Chiefs, like the Patriots, could fall in a barrel of shite, yet somehow, come out smelling of roses.

Depressing, isn’t it. In two years time, everyone will hate the Chiefs though, and want anyone else to win.
