Raith v Hearts

It’ll be interesting to see what we’re like without Hendry. I don’t imagine it’ll be particularly positive.

Tonight's a write-off, but Vaughan will bring a different sort of dynamism to the midfield. It'll change the way we play out, moving the creative force forward 20 yards. Really need Matthews back for that to work too, though.

We're clearly out for blood here. First time we've played with real purpose since the opening game.

We still need about 10 chances to score a goal though. Some of the misses have been ridiculous.

Game over. No complaints about the score, frustrating thing is the performance. Really showed nothing going forward and the Hearts goal coming was just a matter of time. Hendry’s red is just moronic, especially given that this game is gone.  Will hamper us for the next few games. Ah well, we’ll always have Saturday

You guys dinny half overreact .net style....

Where is the overreaction?

Most people calling a shite 45 minutes shite. Not the end of the world, but not what any Rovers fan would be happy with.

Could end up whatever Hearts want it to be. Probably inevitable after Saturday, they’ve been very very good. We haven’t looked upto much but this is what you’d expect Hearts to be doing to teams in this league.

Hendry is a clown. I saw it coming, looked like the Hearts guy was keeping a hold of him when he was trying to get up and stamped on him. Losing by four or five goals here isn’t a huge deal but now he’s out of the Dundee and Dunfermline games. Not good.

What a difference.

How TF did Raith put 3 past us on Saturday? Shows the shocking lack of effort and attitude by Hearts at the weekend. Wonder if Berra being absent is a bonus? Certainly, Popescu is playing well and our defence hasn't had any meltdowns. A clean sheet in the offing?

Boyce and Irving great so far. Shame about Gino.

This is another Queen of the South performance. Can barely string two passes together. Hopefully it’s only down to fatigue rather than the more concerning teams figuring us out easily
A touch harsh - I think a lot of it is the change in Hearts performance, they are pressing us much higher up the park and much quicker. It's going to happen sometimes against a team with players that are much better on paper than ours.

Do fear that if Hearts finishing is better in the second half then this could end up embarrassing though.

Shouldn’t be an overreaction to this. We were always going to be out on our feet after the weekend. Hearts are everything they weren’t on Saturday. Fired up and full of intent from the first whistle. With the players they have when they are fired up and playing well, nobody in this league will be able to live with them and that’s what we’re seeing tonight.

Don’t get me wrong we’ve not been great and certainly contributed to our own downfall at times but even at our best I’d doubt we could live with Hearts tonight.

Looked stupid from Hendry, really going to hurt us the games he misses. How many games is he looking at? Hopefully keep it respectable second half, could get quite painful if Hearts continue at the same intensity.

Halliday's was particularly egregious. He had enough time to change his jersey before picking his spot but went for the pirrouette volley. Some players might be able to pick a ball out the sky, on the spin, and stick it in the top him, but Andy Halliday ain't one of them.

Something drastic is going to have to happen to prevent Boyce getting a hat-trick here.

Hearts have got the goal they needed to settle them and to knock the Rovers' belief. The rest of the first half played out exactly as you'd expect, with Hendry's red card maybe escalating things a little.

It'll finish somewhere between 4 and 7-0. Hearts have a point to prove after the weekend, the Rovers just need to get through it without any further injuries or suspensions.

We've been absolutely rotten. Hearts are night and day from Saturday, but the way they are playing is exactly how everyone knew they would tonight. Trying to pass the ball out from the back is daft.

If you are going to come up against a Hearts side looking for revenge for Sat, then you have to defend resolutely, keep it simple and make the ball stick up top. We've not come close to any of those.  Of course Hearts would still likely be too strong, but you at least give yourself half a chance.

No disaster and already more points from this run of games than I feared, but no less dissapointing.
