How the f**k can set not get a game on in this weather?

It's nowhere near freezing temps, and glories sunshine all day. Cold and bright.

I'm not sure who's most to blame here, the dundee ground-staff or the ref, but this is shambolic.

It's either rained hard during the week or frozen and had snow cover at some point which has thawed, regardless would have thought the pitch should have been covered all week if it was already soft to protect it from whatever elements during the week.

It does from that angle tbf, not sure if the referee this morning had a clue what he was doing or either that it has rained since or Dundee said they'd have that cleared in time, still if they'd said that it should have been followed up by a further inspection at like 12 IMO, not fucking half 1 when the match official goes out for his pre-match wander round the pitch

If the pitch is unplayable when the inspection is made, the game should not be declared on. Either it’s off, or another inspection is called later.

These kind of shite decisions completely ruin thousands of folks Saturdays. Especially with not much else to look forward to just now.

What a dick.

You’re absolutely 100% spot on. The game’s fucked with the lack of tackling and thon VAR pish but to call that waterlogged today has taken it to a whole new level.

FUCKING p***k OF A REFEREE. Get him so far tae f**k from our game. 😡

Remember we got shafted once by a junior official doing an early inspection at Somerset and postponing it based on a frozen pitch, Ayr proceeding to do a full afternoons training session on the pitch....

That’s what’s happened though. From a distance does it look unplayable to you?

Dundee begging for every possible chance, hence no official confirmation, looks like the bit which had no grass on it last week is too soft and unplayable according to match referee, some junior diddy referee obviously did it this morning or rain has fallen since.
Ian Robb from AU Media saying Ayr players are away off, peak scottish banter if they had to do another u-turn back to Dens for a later kick off

There was f**k all rain this morning or since - it's clear and sunny in Dundee.

Both teams wanted to play - seriously think the ref has got this wrong.

Considering the ref David Munro looks like he's on his work experience i'm not surprised it's off, a more experienced ref would have probably got on with it

Except that wasn't listed as why the game was called off. It was the middle of the pitch and the reporter at the game has already stated that that looks worse than it actually is in reality.

We don’t know what happened.

What I’m saying is that a match is only ever “conditionally on” following an inspection if another inspection for later is called straight away.

You should never have a game declared on subject to conditions without that follow-up inspection.

That could be cleared in a matter of minutes. The part of the pitch deemed unplayable is the middle of the park which doesn’t have a patch of water on it. Both clubs, and media have said they’re confused as to why it’s not on.

Also, that photo should not be enough to call off a game.
