Pretty much this.  Will probably be 2 or 3-0 but will absolutely 100% have a couple of goals within a few minutes of each other.  Almost makes predicting how well / badly Ayr will play  for the other 80-85 mins utterly pointless.

Unstoppable force meets very moveable object.

Unfortunately, Unstoppable force has McPake in charge - 3-2 home win with Ayr scoring twice in the last 15 minutes...
I'd say Ayr 2-0 at ht then capitulating to the 3-2 defeat in the space of 6 minutes somewhere in the 2nd half.

Who is going to compete and win the ball back across that midfield

to me Muirhead does a job at right back but team would get so much more from him at centre half

what has happened with Houstie hasn’t got his season going

walsh needs to be played wide in my opinion

still need a big centre to bring the smaller footballers in our squad into game

Well we don't really have any ball winners in midfiield, that's our biggest problem, unless you put chalmers in the holding role and have miller/murdoch in a more attacking role.

To move walsh wide that means sacrificing either McCowan or Smith, which i don't think is feasible, again, this highlights the unbalanced squad.

Other option would be to move Moff or Smith up top but i think we need to give Cameron a try to allow us to try and hold the ball up to bring the guys like Smith/Walsh/Moffat/McCowan more into games IMO.
