According to Half Man Half Biscuit there is surely nothing worse than washing sieves (with the possible exception of being Garth Crooks).

Anyone out there in disagreement with this assertion?

Cups and mugs that no matter how much you clean them, still have tea stains.

Do none of you peasants have dishwashers? (turbo pan scrubber cycle recommended, especially the mugs)

I do not.

Think I heard somewhere that most kitchens are tiny in Germany so you don't have room for anything like washing machines etc so they have to go in a shared basement. Or was that Switzerland?

My friend had a flat in Berlin. Tiny kitchen. No freezer. Washing machine in basement.

I live in the west end of Glasgow, but my washing machine is in the bathroom. Does that mean I can continue to claim EU membership?

I would say so. Of course my washing machine is happier and British by virtue of it spinning in the kitchen.
