Joke of a decision tbh. How many confirmed cases or issues due to close contact have we seen in the lower leagues? And yet the top flight has had loads of confirmed cases, seen loads of players having to isolate and had one team f**k off for a jolly to Dubai, only to return to Scotland with a player confirmed as Covid positive? If we were following the evidence then the top flight should be suspended and the lower league players recognised for being able to follow advice. Just end the season now. No promotion. You had the ludicrous possibility on Saturday of Clyde players and club chaplains travelling the full length of the country to play in a match that wasn't even going to be live-streamed. All this at a time where the virus is rife and people outside the game can't even have a kickabout in the park with more than one other person. How many lower league players have had to self-isolate? Top flight - a load of positive cases and self-isolating players and yet it continues unaffected. Either suspend all football or none. They would have had to report the test results to their clubs and to any non-football employer for test and trace purposes. Not buying that at all. If football was an issue then even asymptomatic players would pass the virus on to others who would display symptoms. Itchy chin with those 2 alternatives. Every league in world football that IS testing have returned positive cases. Some a lot, some a little, some varying. Had lower leagues here been testing up to now, it is inevitable that we'd have had our share of positive tests, too. There is no logical reason to imagine we'd have been unique in world football. This is a kick in the fucking soul and I hate it, but given that emergency corpse storage units are being set up down south on the back of overflowing morgues, it's a kick we just have to take for now in the hopes that these efforts stop us getting as bad as that up here. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This would be my choice too but there's no way clubs in danger of relegation would agree to this. The leagues won't start again and they'll be voided. Pretty brutal tbh. I get why it's been stopped and this is a very minor point but I've enjoyed having our games every week with the associated discussions with friends/family around them.
