Dundee vs St Johnstone - 3rd Round

Considering we beat Hearts at Dens, we should be able to knock off this inferior mob. Depends on what Dundee turns up on the day I suppose, anything like last night again and we're fucked.

Edit: Funny what can change in 7 weeks.

Mon the null and void.

Saints have shown they can beat diddy league opposition this season in the League Cup.

Dundee on the other hand made a meal of defeating a team of sumo wrestlers last night and are throughly unconvincing.

Premiership quality will shine through - easy win for the SJFC massive. 3-0 Perth.

It's a tie where you want your team to be away in normal times. In fact, both clubs would arguably take more fans to each others grounds than they'd muster at their own in this age of cup ties not being on season tickets. Obviously deeper in the competition changes that but always a shame the apathy a home time seems to bring.

First major cup meeting in 31 years amazingly. Last time was the third round of 1984/85 when the teams drew 1-1 at Muirton then replayed the very next evening at Dens! Can you imagine the outcry if that had to happen now?

A few weeks ago, we are probably happy with this game and Dundee a bit wary but roles reversed now and we certainly made hard work of Dunfermline. We can't score goals and can't keep clean sheets.

Would probably swap every result in January for a win against Hibs at Hampden, so the mood going into this one could be dependent on that.

The absolute scenes though if McPake had a couple of bad results and this is Tommy Wright's first game.

Surely a good chance this is on TV too.

I mean, he's been fine for the last few weeks, though I know that a Flapjack performance can strike at any time.

I'm sure his quality will shine through over the remaining section of the season.

If you get beat will you have a temper tantrum and delete the thread?

Thank you.
