velo army Posted January 5 Share Posted January 5 I just watched the last episode of series 2 there. Again, it's great TV. The cast and the acting are all top notch, with just the right amount of whimsy. I had one wee bugbear at the end though. Spoiler I didn't like the pushing of the "they're actually gay for each other" story at the end. It didn't feel particularly natural or congruent with their characters. I liked that they were essentially asexual for the entirety of the show as it made it easier to invest in the world. It also felt a bit rushed and it's not like there had been any obvious sexual tension between them throughout the show. They're great friends, but not lovers. I know that social media likes to make fun of and point to obvious erasure of homosexual relationships throughout history, and with good reason, but I also think that two men should be allowed to have a deep and lasting friendship, even one which is more important than all other relationships, without it being romantic. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
