So you agree then - a referee has to confirm the game is aff; the clubs can't just do it themselves. Think it through - we have several of the first-team squad ruled out due to Covid restrictions. We can't be allowed to decide this unilaterally or we could be accused of trying to obtain a postponement till the full squad is available. And for that matter, yes the clubs may have agreed on a date for the game to be played. Since it's a cup game and there are league games scheduled for both teams on that night the relevant authorities will still have to be consulted and agree to the clubs' request. Try paying more attention to what’s posted - the clubs can’t just arbitrarily go ahead on any given date, even if it IS the first “available” date, without the agreement of the governing bodies.
