Morton vs Pars - do we have to?

The clubs have agreed an early inspection due to the state of the pitch and it being deemed highly unlikely anything will change. The clubs have agreed the rescheduled date. The ref coming is a formality. There is no reason to leave it close to kickoff.

So you agree then - a referee has to confirm the game is aff; the clubs can't just do it themselves. Think it through - we have several of the first-team squad ruled out due to Covid restrictions. We can't be allowed to decide this unilaterally or we could be accused of trying to obtain a postponement till the full squad is available.

And for that matter, yes the clubs may have agreed on a date for the game to be played. Since it's a cup game and there are league games scheduled for both teams on that night the relevant authorities will still have to be consulted and agree to the clubs' request. It's really not difficult.

The Scottish Cup automatically takes precedent over league matches and gets played on the next midweek this season. So no relevant authorities have to be consulted at all.

Thanks for playing anyway, chump.

At which point did I claim that a ref did not have to come down?

Yes, I’m well aware of that. It’s also been stated earlier in this thread. Try paying more attention to what’s posted - the clubs can’t just arbitrarily go ahead on any given date, even if it IS the first “available” date, without the agreement of the governing bodies.
Simple stuff. But thanks for playing, chump. 👍 Enjoy a slice of Ainsley’s humble pie.

I didn’t say you did -  you’re missing the point. “We have decided it’s off” was what you said, and only a referee can decide that.

You quite clearly weren't, otherwise you wouldn't have posted nonsense such as this:

- no evidence of 'club agreement' on anything: the alternative date is already set out by the SFA in advance

- therefore absolutely zero need to 'consult' with any 'relevant authorities' whatsoever

So apart from being wrong on every key point, a solid 0/10 'contribution' from yourself.

*sigh*........

I suggest you stop juggling semantics now   -   your pie’s  getting cold.

........ but don’t forget my customary wee rid dot on your way out, saddo. Whatever lights your tiny wee candle.

If someone could just copy and paste the last 40 or so pages of the Pars v Raith thread that will save everyone from having to discuss “why didn’t you put the covers down/switch the heating on/go out with the kettle and defrost it?”.

And I guess we are back to league business tomorrow?

Hopefully Hearts game can be back on. No idea how practical that is. Would imagine either Hearts or Raith game will be played in the free week at the end of January, assuming our league isn’t suspended between now and then.

There should have been an exemption for this game to go ahead since both teams are in the Championship.

No way can the Hearts game go ahead its place. Neither team will have prepared for that game.

Should have had a winner takes all, next round of the cup and 3 points for the upcoming league game. Saves the bother of two utterly depressing games of football.

Let's make it happen Friday night then, if it's a draw decide on corner kicks?
