How many are up at 6am ? That is a generalisation.  How do  they manage in normal times ?

There are buses  for the odd midweek game you are suggesting  (the majority would be on a Saturday) and also alternative routes to Elgin.  Just a suggestion from me.

Also I was under the impression that all 20 clubs were in agreement with starting up under the new arrangements .

Under the proposals there will be midweek games most weeks. Dunno about Brechin but most tradesmen etc up here start 7-7.30.

Not unusual to hear that the reason someone was missing from the lineup for a midweek game was that they couldn’t get time off work.  Suspect that some employers may be even less sympathetic if the ask is for time off once a week for three months!

That's a fair comment but I think you'd be very unlucky to have a full team of tradesmen.

Aside from the aforementioned work issues, if we tried to play twice a week then bad weather for a week or two would play havoc with that schedule.

Better to forget about the final third of the season, pick up where we left off, and play 18 matches.

That would be ok if it had been agreed at the start of the season. Better extending the season and playing 27 as agreed.

I think that is the plan.  Then have another shortened season with a later start  for next season.

Will UEFA allow an extended season?  And will this cause difficulties with players' contracts, particularly for clubs qualifying for the playoffs.

I would hope that UEFA would welcome the efforts of clubs and associations to complete their seasons and assist them with similar extensions . The lower leagues should not be impacted by or under pressure to complete before  the Euros  take place. The top two leagues are currently on track to finish on time which would please UEFA.

As for the players contracts , I would hope that players would show the same loyalty to the clubs as the clubs have to them with the furlough scheme and extend contracts to allow the season to be completed.

Don't think UEFA will be a problem from a lower league point of view. The issue is the Euros and the knock on effect of the SPFL playoff system. Because of the Euros, UEFA will want the top leagues to finish/stop during that time.

As the Premiership and Championship are continuing as normal, it's not clear how you can arrange the Championship playoff if League One hasn't also finished around the same time. Which is probably one of the main factors for L1 & L2 proposing testing to start back up as soon as possible.

Queen's have to go to Elgin on a Tuesday night in April. 20 players and 5 coaching and medical staff going individually by car. Apart from the health and safety issues of tired or injured players driving back, the cost at say 45p a mile would extortionate! Cheaper and safer taking 2 buses!

No doubt when the midweek April fixtures were scheduled they were thinking ( foolishly now in hindsight) that some sort of normality would have returned by then. Now most clubs will have 8 postponed games to play midweek from March. If we can come to some sort of sensible arrangement over the travel then we're the club that is going to be inconvenienced a lot less given we're full-time.

Not sure about Premiership but largely the Championship ones are, yes. Have been all season. Inverness bring 2 or 3 buses. I think Arbroath did too. You aren't allowed a full squad in a bus, there's not enough space. Two buses minimum if buses are used.

UEFA won't care about the lower divisions. Issue would be playoffs which would need to be cancelled if they can't be in a position to play them at the same time as the league above finishes.

Since when? There's absolutely no compulsion to have a 52 week contract. Almost all contracts end on either 31 May or 9 June regardless of when they start.

2 or 3 years now it was agreed with SPFA.

Anyhow... hows QOS getting on with their clubs policy on failed MPs and their families gaining access to closed doors games?

Contracts are supposed to end in a transfer window period.  You can't as used to happen just pay a player only for the period when actual matches are being played  - must be paying at least national minimum wage  per each week or month of entire contract period.  That wasn't agreed with the SPFA but was required by National Minimum Wage legislation  enforced by the actions of HMRC.  The SPFA. naturally highlighted the requirement on behalf of its members.

Extending the season isn't very attractive.  We need to try and get back to something akin to normality.  You don't want to impinge on yet another season by effectively doing away with close season before 2021/22 nor do you want a third season where the league campaign is impacted.  And if things are getting better - players and their families might actually wish to have summer holidays!!

There is no requirement for contracts to end in a transfer window. It's common but it's not compulsory. A lot of lower division clubs still use 31 May which is before the window opens. The only rule is that the minimum length of a contract is to at least the first day of the next window but if you are signing players before the start of the season then that's 1st January. Anyone signed in the January window or beyond though would have to run right through to 9th June.
