Which is true but misses the point somewhat. Some would have been played and there is still another three weeks before you can even start training at best. Its not really directly comparable. Clubs would've also been happy to add to their squad during the January window because they had scheduled games. A stupid point to make really.

The weather. How many games would we have been able to play if this had been a “ normal” season? All games weathered off would have had to have been played. And, we wouldn’t have been playing a game tomorrow either. 19 hours ago, Skyline Drifter said: He is suggesting the weather has generally been so bad since the mid January lockdown that most lower league sides would barely have played in a month anyway. It’s about not giving up hope just yet.
true fan
Anybody that has voiced an opinion suggests that, despite all the hassle that went along with the end of last season, we have gone into this season with no contingency plans for what happens if significant games lost. Talking about how to finish season - extend season, reduce from 3 to 2 cycles of games and also what to do about promotion, relegation, playoffs in truncated season. nothing I have seen suggests such plans are in place. I have read that ‘the authorities offered the clubs’ the option of putting plans in place but ‘the clubs didn’t want it’. Does anybody know anything about this?
Thom & Gerry
At the beginning of the season Doncaster asked the clubs for a consensus on how to end the season should the season have to be halted. No consensus was reached therefore the season went ahead with no contingency plan. After last season, complete madness. Doncaster and board haven’t the power to make an executive decision so it’s anybody’s guess how they are going to sort this season’s end.
true fan
Good for the newspapers and pie and bovril then. Also manufacturers of anti hypertensive medication. They could have at least agreed minimal number of games to count as a season - if some /all clubs have played less than 50% of games it isn’t a season. No promotion, no relegation by any means. Shouldn't have started what was always going to be a nightmare season without at least an agreed plan. Surely clubs held off from signing players in January due to the situation? Another reason to scrap the season and spend the time working on a plan for next season with fans.
Thom & Gerry
They will do everything they can to avoid scrapping the season hence the plan they put forward to the SFA. As you said farcical that that there is not a season ending plan in place considering the farce of last season.
tamthebam
Extend the season into June (or even July) as our English pals did last year. Break in August which allows players to get a holiday. League Cup either scrapped or back to a knock out* with no sections. Start in September. *A non seeded knock out competition would be fun. Won't happen.

How many seasons are going to be messed around with because clubs keep coming up with rubbish ideas to play regardless of the real world situation? With furlough in place and the prize money from the TV deals guaranteed at the top level, cutting everyone's losses from this farce is the best, though understandably frustrating solution. No league outside of the top flight should have even started tbh.

Thom & Gerry
Stop the season, continue the season, the question is, who is going to make a decision that the majority are going to agree with? That is the problem and should have been agreed before the season started.
EdinburghBlue
Seems that there may be differences between club boards - who made the case for restarting - and managers and players. But have to say it’s increasingly likely that this will be a null and void season.

true fan
Yeah would be good to put some meat on the bones. What exactly was said and by whom. If Doncaster rushed it and gave the clubs 5 minutes that would be awful but not a surprise. If clubs just couldn’t be bothered to come up with something then I think all supporters should be asking questions of their club a collective shrugging of the shoulders just isn’t good enough
