Clyde vs Airdrieonians

Recommended Posts

Just before the third, Rumsby had the chance to clear the ball and just fell over. And he's just all but cost us a fourth goal with an abysmal pass-back but for a good bit of goalkeeping. Howie must be absolutely fizzing that he can't get a game at centre half.
It's absolutely dire sitting here every week watching players who should have been jettisoned a while back, never mind the one who actually WAS punted.
The Howie situation is utterly bizarre. Acquitted himself well and as the better of a Howie/Rumsby partnership at times last season. At best, Rumsby is in dire form, at worst he is miles off being good enough to play in this team (which is saying something). He's made about 5 glaring errors so far in this game.

Im not watching this game, can anyone watching confirm if either team has a wind advantage. Clutching at straws here.

Clyde were playing into the wind - not sure which way is advantageous.

Airdrie had the wind but doesn’t excuse most of what we’ve witnessed today, with the exception perhaps of the first which was helped by the wind.

Airdrie had the wind but used it to whips corners right on top of our goal, helped by Mitchell having a fucking nightmare.

You just know though, in the second half, we wont take any account for the wind and our corners and long balls will all get carried out for a goal kick instead.

In general play the wind doesn't look to have affected it much though. We've just been shite.

We lack any sort of defensive cohesion despite having the exact same defenders as last season (minus Adam Livingstone but plus Jamie Bain). Not that we were great defensively last year but we have become so much worse.

Combine that with an absolutely powderpuff midfield who offer very little protection to a poor defence and we’re always on a hiding to nothing.

Mitchell usually reliable in goal for us and its very unlike him to make one mistake never mind two in the one game . The third goal is the same one we've been conceding all season not closing down or clearing the ball at the edge of the box.

Was a good finish from Cuddihy but its the same every week that we need to score a minimum of 3 to take something from the game.

Mitchell is absolutely at fault for the first two goals but the defending was still horrific besides that. For the second goal Mcniff is marking a man at the near post. The Airdrie player then makes the most standard looped run out and back into the back post and McNiff ends up a couple of yards off him with no clue where he actually is.

It's a standard run that catches out our idiotic defenders all the time. We are also atrocious at doing similar for attacking corners, on the rare occasion we try it.
