Jim McLean's Ghost
3-1. Shite. Hard to be too critical since we lead for 70 minutes. Would have taken a miracle for the defence to hold up for 90 minutes though.
gaz5
Fair play to rangers. Few cracks starting to show, but those are the games league winners win. Wouldn't have last season.

AJF
Get in there! Massive win especially coming from behind. It’s worrying how we’ve performed the last couple of games but surely that has to give them a bit of a lift. Credit to Motherwell too, probably one of the most organised sides to come to Ibrox this season and on another day they’d have left with points in the bag. A horrible game of football, but can’t blame Robinson for the way he set them up and Rangers offered very little in terms of breaking them down for the majority. Absolutely buzzing with the win though!
TommyLeePwns
A real sweaty game for Rangers this afternoon but the class came through in the end. Fair play to Motherwell for sticking to their guns and trying to choke the game but it didn't work. Just a bit confused as to why Itten wasn't on from the start to provide the direct option. The lads can take a lot from this game, today was a good test and they passed it. 3pts.
KnightswoodBear
Tom Miller really is a w**k. Towards the end he said something along the lines of "the way Motherwell have played today would get the game stopped". Motherwell were excellent today and could very well have come away with one point if not all three if they'd just had a bit more luck.
'WellDel
Slightly out on the goals conceded count , but proof again that parking the bus never works , you will always be broken down in the end when under so much pressure for so long. Scoring was an unexpected and pleasant surprise , but the outcome was inevitable . A brutal watch for the purists , but I suppose coming away with less damage to the goal difference than expected is some form of positive .

That's the way I seen it, Motherwell were surprised by their goal so they flipped the script and held on for what they could but it came apart in the end.

He’s a fan with a mic which is a mistake when you want to attract viewers and encourage away supporters to purchase the match. Clive is far superior and always seems to give away sides credit where it is due when he commentating. And yes, Motherwell done everything perfectly for 70/75 minutes today. thepundit
Well that was a relief. Fair play to Rangers. After the disappointment of midweek and then to go a goal down today, to come back and win showed great character. Onto the next game...
G51
What a game for the #narratives. Rangers lose or draw that game, then they're bottlers. Rangers come back to win, then it's the sign of champions. For me, the truth of the game doesn't come down to mentality, but personnel. Rangers clearly didn't expect Motherwell to go to two banks of five and play the way they did - much like St Mirren on Wednesday, we came up against something we were unprepared for. So when our team came out, we were ill-equipped to break down those lines because we didn't have the players for it. The half-time swap for Aribo worked a little bit to unsettle Motherwell, and Rangers created some better chances. But the game really changed when Hagi came on. It then became pretty much unstoppable for Motherwell because they didn't know how to respond to so many players in between the two lines. Those players between the lines allowed us to find the passes behind the defence. Hagi pulling wide right really was a problem for them too, they had no idea whether to stay or go with him. Full credit to the management team for finding the right solution in the end. We'll know how to beat that next time. It was a great effort by Motherwell and a solid plan from Robinson, but it just turns out Rangers can beat that. It was worth trying though. Two areas of concern: Defensively, we aren't blocking any crosses and we aren't tracking midfield runners. The midfield issue is something Jack solves, but the fullbacks simply need to get back to their previous levels. Secondly, Arfield needs a spell out the team. He's run into the ground.
well fan for life
Imagine taking 70 minutes to score against our lot of absolute fucking huddies. What a riddy.

There was maybe 1 I think the referee should’ve went to his pocket but on the whole there wasn’t many bad fouls.
ropy
I thought the goals lost were cheap in what was an otherwise disciplined although unadventurous performance.

Obviously not been able to hang onto the lead but a team with the resources of Rangers should be dealing with Motherwell easier than they have. Did Robinson employ similar tactics to St Mirren on Wednesday and try and nullify the full backs? Two very different games. St Mirren dominated us in the second half on Wed and won the midfield. M'well, in contrast, scored their (well taken) early goal then played with two banks of five, encouraged us to come on to them and largely snuffed us out. Both our fullbacks got a lot of the ball and Borna did put in some excellent crosses but they were handled well by the M'well defence. Our subs changed the game, especially Aribo, but the real winner was fitness. After our equaliser M'well were running on empty and our third was down to a combo of Aribo's close ball skills and Motherwell fatigue. To be fair I think if Barisic had started the League Cup game on Wednesday there would have been a different result. Always impressed by Barisic, his set pieces and the accuracy of his crosses from open play are top quality. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the English Premier League in the not too distant future.
