By my reckoning Arbroathlegend36-0 should be on 325 points (you haven't added on the score for Joan Didion, and there was an arithmetic error where he should have been on 199 points originally)

And Cardinal Richleiu should be on 275 points not 255 (Clarissa Eden had 24 base points, rather than the 14 you ascribed. She was a very youthful 101 when she went).

So I should be 14th rather than 12th. Sigh...

Even though it's not one of the writers I've had on my team for the five years I've been participating in the Dead Pool, I actually have something personal to share about Joan Didion. The following is from one of my university notebooks:

Of the three classes I took that term this might be the shortest entry for any text I studied. Mrs. Dalloway might run it close. The only thing I remember about whatever I read was a sequence where she was going on about being in a building where a bunch of people were watching The Doors practicing while she was alone and miserable. Absolutely horrible, from what I remember. A few months after these notes were written I entered an extensive depressive episode where I effectively became a recluse and cut myself off from all of my friends. Make of that what you will.

Didion died at 87 so she's worth 38 Base Points for @Arbroathlegend36-0 who gets that doubled for Deadly December and gets an extra 50 for a Solo Shot and a total of 126. Meaning the standings actually look like this:

I might take that criticism from someone sitting above me in the table, but not from a no-mark who has yet to get off the starting block.

Besides, my team is peppered with younger wrestlers - all of whom are/were either roided  to the gills, hooked on painkillers, and/or leaping off massive edifices on a daily basis. And with only 4 days to go, they all appear to be in the rudest of health, so I shall stick with my gameplan. Centenarians FTW!

Oh, and if you're thinking of introducing a Dead Pool Fair Play award, my vote goes to @Aim Here.
