The real reason is because there's a 'notorious' group of fans that abuse the manager behind the dugout and has led to several spats with previous managers. Jocky gave them the finger IIRC. McPake probably watched Hartley, McCann and McIntyre all have wee verbals and preferred the comfort of Nelms clapping wildly as we only get beaten by 2 goals.
