Absolutely magnificent to see the **** contort themselves all over this thread now it looks like they will win something for the first time.

To be fair, Rangers fans have been repeatedly told their team has never won anything; it's a bit contradictory to simultaneously accuse them of being gloryhunters!

Not really, they win 9 times out of 10 and have done for god knows how long.

How are we defining local team?

Its quicker for me to walk to Parkhead than Accies, but quicker to get the train to Accies than it is to Parkhead.

Which is the closest for you to fly to?

There's a hierarchy of decision making, clearly.

Locality is the priority but if you're unsure just ask yourself if you're comfortable facilitating the success of a truly hideous organisation.

Since 2012?

Won the majority of their games but not trophies. I think however that everyone recognised Rangers were going to be back. I can’t think of one person who during the season in League 2 said that they thought rangers would stay down. They were expected to return and were thus expected to win trophies. Any rangers fan that tries to use their seasons in the lower leagues as an example of not being glory hunters is having a laugh.

It's utter lunacy to try and suggest there's any reason other than glory-hunting for teams who win more trophies being more likely to have a larger proportion of supporters outside their town/city. It happens all over the world and everyone knows the reasons for it.

Yes, there are always other factors like religion in Scotland. But if Rangers and Celtic has always been jobbing clubs floating between the top and second tiers for much of their existence, all the bigotry in the world wouldn't fill their grounds.

Have you heard of a place called Northern Ireland?

Pre covid there was a boat full of bigots every weekend filling grounds.

Yep and if Rangers and Celtic were no better than the shitey bigot teams on their doorstep, they wouldn't bother crossing the sea.

I guess we will never have the "luxury" of testing that theory, but don't underestimate homegrown hatred.

i know of bigots from down south who travel up to Ibrox, past teams much bigger than either the old firm, they could glory hunt Champions League wins but instead, with heart in hand, they  would rather watch tin pot shite in scotland.
