If this is true and their preferred candidate is not joining, another issue for Celtic is that any hope the fans had that there was someone already lined up for the job and had been working on how to strengthen the squad has been dashed.

It's been a complete shambles at Celtic for the past year or so and the fans have been treated shockingly... it's magnificent

Besides them holding off and seeing if they can get Clarke, Keane is the only "name" I could think of that would appease folk after so long. The issue of him not being very good not withstanding.

Tbh I doubt the threat of  ‘Rangers’ have little to do with anyone thinking of coming up here. Doesn't take a genius to see that losses after losses can’t go on forever and players will have to be sold to balance the books. Apart from how Scottish football is viewed the biggest turn off would be probably our board.
