Wouldn’t have expected anyone to take over until the Summer anyway and as much as I’d love Howe to take over if he isn’t bought into the idea of coming to Celtic then there is little more we can do to influence that.

I imagine convincing his wife and kids to move to Glasgow won’t be an easy sell considering he’s said in past interviews he has to be all in meaning his family with him so it’s a big decision to make and us Celtic fans need to understand and respect that

However if it happens to be he is using the Celtic offer to leverage Premier League interest then he isn’t the man for us and we look somewhere else.

Still hopefull though

Celtic will get Howe. Dominic McKay’s start date was moved forward so he could be the guy to deliver the new manager.

No way the club will let Howe slip through their fingers and make McKay’s first major move look like a failure.

If he signs in next week or so, fair enough but can they allow him to hum and haw for the next couple of months then take a job in England, leaving Celtic high and dry. Being slapped down by howe’s agent wasn’t a good look. Surely the club has to bigger than one man, even if times have changed.

Maybe part of him wants the job but is worried about upheaval, goldfish bowl, family etc but do Celtic want a manager who comes semi- reluctantly. What if they draw a couple of league games early doors and rangers are right out of the traps. How will folks take to that if he has taken ages to commit?

Maybe he will sign in next week or so. Is there a plan B?

Considering how quickly the celtic fans turned against Lennon, any manager considering taking the job is going to be thinking what am I letting myself for here.

You say quickly turned, but a good majority of the support disagreed with Lennon’s second appointment from the beginning.

Is that what Gerrard thought after watching Caixinha ousted after 200 days or so?

This is a consequence of being an underperforming manager at almost any club especially one where there are expectations to win things it isn’t exclusive to Celtic.

Didn’t the Celtic squad need escorted in and out parkhead at one point this season . That’s pretty exclusive to Celtic

And that was despite Lennon tickling the sectarian tummy of the Celtic support at every opportunity. What chance a decent non-bigot like Howe ? Stay clear Eddie, stay very clear.

Not exclusive at all and pretty mild compared to what’s happening at Marseille to give one example.

Let me stress that doesn’t make it right, acceptable or any less unsavoury but what it certainly isn’t is exclusive

There's a difference between Pedro at Rangers and celtic legend Neil Lennon tbf, Lennon has won countless cups at celtic as a player and a manager.  To turn against him so quickly because they couldn't win a 5th treble in a row shocked most people viewing Scottish fitba.

If the fans are rioting and trying to storm the team bus because Lennon lost a game what chance does someone with no connection to the  club have....

It seems very much to me like he is using Celtic as leverage.

Something like the Palace job would suit him much more. A similar size club to Bournemouth (bigger, but not massively so) with similar expectations in the South of England is probably ideal for him. The fact he will almost certainly get paid more by them would make it an even easier decision to make.

Then you clearly weren’t paying attention if you think that’s the only reason fans turned.

And it wasn’t how quickly that fans turned that surprised people viewing Scottish fitba but how fast he helped turn us into a very bang average side

Howe is no doubt a capable manager but you'd think Celtic were trying to land Arrigo Sacchi from AC Milan. Celtic would do well to remind themselves of what happened when Owen Coyle snubbed them for Bolton.

I'm also unsure why the media seem to think I should care so much about the purported abilities of Dominic McKay.

Any time you can hire the guy who's revolutionized Scottish Rugby and led them to *checks notes* the quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup and fourth place in the Six Nations, you gotta do it

Can't believe we broke the social media silence by *checks notes* tweeting this mornings press conference?

He also wasn't exactly on the ball when the majority of the Hooray Henries decided to dispute the idea that Black Lives Matter.

Zippy's point still stands, the managers position is no different to the CEO's or Head of recruitment, now Celtic are left in limbo it makes no difference if the managers time is up or not.
The transition between one manager and the next whether it's garden leave or a month hand over with due diligence, the need to get rid should never be on the table.
You wanted him out before he got the job so nothing was ever going to be good enough.
