Peter Shilton on SSN : and then, four minutes later as we know that goa... Well it was a foul on Glenn Hoddle before he got the ball, you know, Glenn was fouled.

Fucking hell,  then on the opposite end we've got Villas Boas asking Fifa to permanently retire the number 10.

Do they just do this so they can get a bit of attention?

Or colonisation, occupation and pillage being an inherently 'good' or 'bad' thing.  I see your dilemma. its a tough one.

I haven't mentioned any of those things at all. Where are you getting these things from?

Peter Shilton’s article in the Daily Mail does just show him up as the absolute fanny that he is. He was outjumped by a wee man and essentially cannae take it. This singular event sent him in a spiral of xenophobia whereby he became the tory brexiteer that he is today. This very moment ruined shilton. If you look at pictures of the goal you can pin point the exact moment he died inside, its glorious.

Who was the England player who slices the clearance to set the goal up? It looks like no. 10 or 16, which would be Lineker or Reid.

Maybe this article is justified, I didn't live through it. But it has a sort of petulant/weird 'he's only famous because of England' vibe to it.

Think the English were "scrambling for relevance" by the WC in 86.

Their teams had finished the first year of the ban after Hysel and even Lineker was going to Barca after the WC.

Diego has already been transferred for £5m and £7m, both times a world record so he certainly wasn't relying on that game to make him famous.

It did help to make him very popular in Scotland.

Because that's what we're discussing.  Its why the Falklands is even a thing, and why they're called the Falklands (by us only).

Can you f**k off and discuss it somewhere else please.

As well as being unbelievably skilful he was brave, he had to be as their wasn't a lot of protection given to him.  Liked a set-to now and again.
