Abusing him for being from Adelaide continues to be OK obviously.

Born in Bentleigh East though and played youth for MV and MC and A-League for MC and the green and black nomads.

FFA Cup tonight. Broadmeadows Magic v West Sydney Wanderers. Although the game is in Newcastle it’s not at Magic’s home ground. The other tie sees another Broadmeadows side in action but from the Melbourne suburb. Hume City at home to Port Melbourne Sharks. Both games kick-off at 08:30:GMT.

New season kicks=off on Friday with last season’s champions Melbourne City at home to Brisbane Roar (08:45 GMT). Three games on Saturday, WSW v Sydney in the first derby of the season and Western nomads Utd v Melbourne Victory, a sort of derby. Both at 08:45 GMT then Perth Glory v Adelaide United at 11:05 GMT. Glory then have 8 games away, due to WA border restrictions plus have to play home FFA Cup tie in Adelaide. The A-League now has it’s own website at www.keepup.com.au .The myfootball.com.au site appears to have stopped listing A-League fixtures from today. Melbourne City and Sydney FC will probably be the front runners and doubt Melbourne Victory will have a repeat of last season. Perth Glory have to play so many away from home will stuff them. Isaias is back at Adelaide United but we’ll still be as frustrating as shite.

First game of the Isuzu Ute A-League saw Melbourne City defeat Brisbane Roar 2-1 although probably thankful Roar denied an equaliser about 10 minutes before the end.

Brilliant night away to Western United. Kicking off the season with a 1-0 win.

Pleased the Reds drew in Perth. Over:17,000 there to see Daniel Sturridge come on after 85 minutes. The Macarthur v Phoenix game tomorrow has been moved to Newcastle as double header after the F3 derby.

Sturridge not selected because he's "not used to a four hour flight" before playing.  Did nobody tell him where Perth is?

He’s in for a bigger shock if the Nix ever get to play in Wellington again.

Rumour mill has been suggesting expansion could happen fairly soon & 22/23 could have 14 teams. Wolves seem like a prime candidate as they are an existing club with a compliant stadium & fan base.

Wolves in action tonight at home to Central Coast Mariners in FFA Cup Round of 16. This will be the Mariners 2nd visit to the Gong in 4 days as they lost to Wellington 1-2 at the weekend. In the Round of 32 the Wolves defeated Mt Druitt Town Rangers 3-0 away on Nov 6, their first competitive game since Jun 20, this tie is their second. Kick off is 08:30 GMT. At the same time tonight Hume City is at home to Melbourne City and half an hour later in a Round of 32 toe Adelaide City at home to Melbourne Victory. Tomorrow night in Canberra Tigers FC v APIA Leichhardt in Round of 32.

Check out APIAs 2nd goal v Western Sydney if you can. Free kick I think near half way, lad sees the keeper off his line and chips him. Glorious.

Cracking goal. WSW lose to NPL opponents for the second time. Adelaide City defeated them 1-0 in the first year of the FFA Cup in 2014.

Serves them right for putting out a 2nd string XI. They only put on three of the "big" names when they went 2-0 down.

Hard to get excited about the A-League this season but @Jacksgranda NPL SA kicks off tonight with Adelaide City v Campbelltown City. They finished 2nd and 3rd on the table last season. Game is on https://npl.tv and there is an app but not sure if either have location restrictions also not sure if still available on YouTube. Game starts at 09:00 GMT.
