Eednud Posted August 17, 2022 Author Share Posted August 17, 2022 Last four Australia Cup Round of 16 ties tonight with the Adelaide derby Adelaide City (2j v Adelaide United. Adelaide City completed the league and cup double on Saturday winning the league by 1 point. They’re only Premiers though as they have to win the Finals series to become Champions. Adelaide United’s coach, Carl Veart, played over 300 games for Adelaide City, most of them in the old NSL before moving to Adelaide United for the first two season’s of the A-League. The other 3 games are all in Melbourne which is ridiculous scheduling. Melbourne City v Wellington Phoenix in an all A-League tie being played at Casey Fields an Aussie Rules oval , Oakleigh Cannons (2) v Brisbane City (2) and Avondale (2) v Brisbane Roar. Quarter Final draw, looks like games listed for 31 Aug, except the first one which is 28 Aug. Like the way they ensure at least one NPL side will make the SF and that NPL sides are always drawn at home to A-League sides.
