Highly unlikely we'll sack him in the aftermath of this. He's always been the golden child of our American overlords, but by f**k is he not turning it around so this is the inevitable thread for when McPake finally gets punted. Usual list of likely candidates, no hopers and joke candidates.

`100% will be Charlie Adam.

Tommy Wright the main man, ably assisted by Charlie Adam as no.2 to make good the damage of the past three seasons or more.

James McPake and Dave MacKay, what on earth was John Nelms thinking?

Failure to act now is unthinkable, imho.

Would love to see Weighorst get it and do well but he's yet another unknown in Scottish management and doubt he'd come so realistically think Wright is the best shout.

Nelms however is a clueless chunt when it comes to appointing managers so if he even does grow a pair and decide to punt McPake it'll be another cluster f**k of an appointment.

McPake is a fucking country mile out of his depth and had he been appointed prior to a season in the Premier I genuinely believe he'd have the worst win % of any manager in our history. He has absolutely no idea what he's doing and no idea how to change things when games are going tits up (which unless we're playing utter cross they usually do).

McIntyre was a fucking awful manager but in marginal mitigation he'd been left with utter garbage by McCann and a team that looked destined for the drop before we were even past the tattie holidays. McIntyre obviously brought in his own men and we were still apocalyptically shite, but even that useless c**t would have been a more effective manager at this level than McPake. At least he had some sort of track record of getting a financially-backed club out of the second tier. The only way McPake is achieving that is by relegation.

The overarching problem of course is Nelms. He keeps appointing these diddies and backing them with funds, which in the hands of a decent manager would be highly effective. Instead he allowed McCann to spaff good money on shite, and he's now allowing McPake to continue spaffing good money on shite. I realise it's not realistic to expect Nelms or McPake to GTF but they are massive problems for the club at the moment. Frankly, unless McPake goes before he can do any more serious damage we're looking at the 4th play off spot at absolute best. Longer term, Nelms has to either go at some point or least stay the f**k away from appointing football personnel. He is a massive, massive liability in this regard.

As for the next manager, it clearly has to be someone with experience who can at least organise a football team to some degree, which makes Tommy Wright the clear choice. Obviously I am aware that Nelms will take far too long to punt McPake by which time the season will long fucked and Wright will probably in a long term job somewhere else, and we'll end up with Kenny fucking Miller or Charlie Adam.
